Japan Trip 2023 – Day 9

So today begins our first full day at Osaka and I am trying my best to get by with my diarrhea but I can only do so much, at least during the time of this pic. I read that pocari sweat and similar sport drinks are good for hydration and preventing diarrhea so I am drinking this at the start of the day. I will consume a multiple number of similar drinks all throughout this day purely for survival. Too much shit, quite literally.

Osaka is definitely much more chill and relaxed than Tokyo and the ample amount of people biking and just leaving their bikes around like this is so common. On the other hand, there is so many bikes that it seems like you might get hit with one in either direction since they share the same route/path as pedestrian traffic.

Everywhere you go, you can’t escape the Taito Stations and other game/crane game places. They are everywhere.

Of course we went in and spent some time money here, my sister won a figure of Takina from Lycoris Recoil, not because she cared for the character all that much, but more so because it was for a game that she was good at, one of those pull string machines. Noice.

After our madness from the crane games we decided to head to Den Den Town for real, we saw this Turkish Donner place and we decided to give it a try.

It doesn’t look like much but it’s probably one of the best donner sandwiches I’ve ever had, not that is saying much since I haven’t had much donner in my life to begin with but if it’s comparable to shawarma, then it’s pretty damn good, better than most shawarma’s I’ve had.

Inside a book store, can’t remember which one but manga and light novels are common. Noice.

Inside a Kotobukiya store and they had some nice hololive figures on display and some for sale. Noice. I haven’t brought any figures yet on this trip but that might changes in the last day before we leave. We’ll see.

As per all videos on youtube in regards to what to eat in Osaka, 551 Horai offers Japanese-chinese steam pork buns, siu mai and gyoza. This particular location was in a subway station and was significantly less busy than the original/main branch we saw on the way to dontonburi yesterday.

Gotta say, this pork bun is pretty good, filled with onion and pork, the sweetness and savortyness is just right. Good shit. I actually got a takeaway set that includes 4 buns, 6 siu mai and 10 gyoza, only for like 1600 yen, which is not bad.

And here we are at the shinsekai area with one of Osaka’s landmarks, the Tsutenkaku tower. We decided to go up to the tower, since i’ve never been myself. For 900 yen a person, I can say with a reasonably level of confidence that going up was not worth it at all. The view was shit, the glass has so much reflections from lights, making taking photos of the scenery useless; even selfies are horrible here too. You need to take two elevators just to get to the top and you have to wait for them in line both ways, and do the same when going down. The trip up to the top from the second elevator was like so long even tho the tower itself is not that big compared to Tokyo Skytree, which far exceeds it in every possible way

When we got back to our hotel I had had a rough time throughout the day. A really rough time with the diarrhea and went to the toilet no less than 4 or 5 times during the duration of our outing, which is terrible. We needed to do something to treat my condition so asked my sister to go around convenience stores and pharmacies if they had any diarrhea medicine. Armed with several screenshots of known Japanese diarrhea drugs and such, she came back empty handed. However, I asked maybe to check the hotel front-desk if they knew where to get some. After another mini-mission, she was successful as the front-desk helped her find an open pharmacy that was going to close in like half an hour. She succeeded as the picture shows. Yay!

And here a man who is dying internally from explosive shit receives his holy grails. I don’t know if these will work as intended to stop the flow but at least there is hope. I took the one that I am holding on my left hand, it’s main ingredients are “Rohto extract” and “berberine tannate” if that means anything. So hope for the best.

Tomorrow we had big plans but depending on if these drugs work, we might have to shift things around and re-order things a bit, which is not ideal but unavoidable given my current bowel state.

Yea, I hope I get better soon.
