It’s that time of year again, Fall Anime 2015 initial episode 1 impressions. So far nothing that amazing, some ok stuff but nothing out of the ordinary.
Hackadoll the Animation – some mini show about some androids or robot girls that are supposed to help people or “advance” them of some sorts. mildly funny and some gimmick going on. Animation intro kinda shitty and choppy. character designs are OK, girls are cute enough, big boob, normal girl, lazy etc. ok, might watch more.
Lance N’ Masques – some fool faggot with a mask goes saves some girl in the beginning of the show from falling. character designs, kinda shit, not my thing. first 5 minutes in I wasn’t sure if this was fantasy or what because main guy is like yo, i’m a knight, hero of justice type of guy, and he has flashback about his past and it looks all fantasy setting and shit, then it goes to like modern times and he saves some other random girl, wut? Little girl he saved in the beginning is like, ya, i like hero come to my house. She is super rich with mansion and etc. Eat dinner and usual generic what are you doing type of fare since girl lives alone with just a maid. Standard anime scenarios, next day some suited fools like yo, we gonna get you now to the girl, main guy puts on the char looking mask and beats them up, saves the day. Little girl is very happy etc. whatever, what is this shit. bad. generic concept, done before and poor char designs. ending credits the art is not bad, i’m assuming original art. bad. whatever.
Heavy Object – Future wars are like serious business man, too many people get owned so badly, so in the future Japan makes this hardcore giant ball battleship thing on land, basically super op, owns pretty much everything with lasers and shit, death star rolling bro. So first 5 minutes is this epic grand world building explanation of the world and how because of these giant ball superweapon mechs all military technology and armies become obsolete and that all wars and conflicts are fought between these “Objects” or rolling balls. So far so good, got me interested mildly. Said too soon, rest of the 80% of the show is bullshit boring ass conversation with main guy and his annoying ass #2 friend who are in the army to support/maintain one of the ball mechs and the pilot. Of course the pilot is a girl, ok, not bad, but typical quiet/reserved girl. Cue meeting of typical anime character meetings of others on the base, hot commander and old women or something, usual stupid fool fare getting in trouble. Whatever. basically after first 5 minutes, nothing else really happens. near the end cue mantadory cut in of pilot girl in ball getting owned or something. Whatever, concept has been done before and I was expecting interesting things, like you know, actually fighting and battles being seen, but no. Op song at end is alright. Ho-hum char designs but whatever, droppp. shit.
Kagewani – Some crazy ass shit about monsters and some detective or something. Animation and aesthetic is like yo wtf, kinda jaggy realistic. Serious rotoscoping going on here. Some fool is like yo, gotta see dem lockness monsters yo, take video and pictures yo, does some shit, basically faking it. ends up meeting real dinosaur monsters, gets his shit owned. dead. at end main character is like hmmm, ok i’m the main character and you don’t know anything about me other than that I’m the main character. yea, whatever. interesting concept and shit for what it is but not really for me. drop.
Itoshi no Muco – Show about fucking HYPE DOG. HYPE. DOG. LITERALLY. It’s a mini show which is full 3d. pretty bad 3d animation, makes south park look like the shit, but I guess it’s supposed to be ghetto and shit looking. Main character is the dog, master is glassmaker and basically it’s just the dog doing dog things, except it says things in it’s mind, kinda like Garfield i guess. Dog is a girl, so I guess that makes her a bitch, although the voice of the dog is pretty cute, pretty good anime girl voice. Hype dog. Might watch more because it’s kinda shitty and dog is cute/stupid.
K – Return of Kings – According to my rule I generally don’t watch sequels but I didnt’ know that this is a sequel series to some movie so yea, whatever. Gay anime for women, tons of beautiful boys and cool men etc. Even though i don’t really know what’s going on, what I saw is actually pretty impressive. The opening scene is all the guys introducing themselves and from what I gather, they are at least two crews fighting each other, blue and red. Blue has uniforms and looks kinda like holy garb thing, all swords. Red is like gangsters/street holligan look, fight with knives and other street warez. They exchange words, they fight. Fighting goes on for like 5 minutes, pretty impressive animation and battle. Some really chill tunes being played while battles are going on between all the guys. Each crew has like a “King”. Blue king is way better than red king. glasses cool type guy, women probably love him. Animation type is pretty unique and character designs pretty good for what it is. backgrounds are very detailed and almost photo realistic. Each crew has like girl as well which is kinda strange, blue = big boobs girl/serious, red = goth lolita/lazy cute; like this is straight up show for women, so like i’m not sure what the original material was thinking when adding these girls. dunno. If i were to watch a gay sho , i would probably watch this, it’s pretty good. Good designs, concept, animation, world, music etc. too bad that i don’t know what’s going on since it’s sequel.
Young Black Jack – Apparently a prequel of some sort to black jack anime/manga from the 70’s, actually kinda like. The designs are modernized but it still takes place in the 60’s, guess that’s why it’s YOUNG Black Jack, before he became pro and shit. Black Jack is basically pro surgeon and in this anime/series he is still a student. So basically from what I gather, shit happens in the world, people get injuries and Black Jack has to do some amazing miracle operation to save them, while at the same time dealing with the bullshit of society and the times like greed and dickery of people in general. Black Jack got some battle wounds yo, kinda has like scars and shit, stitches and two types of char colors, skin on his face. First ep stupid boy got his arm and leg cut off by train, stupid boy. in hospital doctors are like yo, gotta amputate the remains or else he ded, parents like noooo mai boy, i don’t want to have a cripple for a son, doctor is like yo wtf, do you want him to die then instead? parents are like ummm i guess/ sadface. Black jack is like yo, i can help your boy; for 5 mil yen i can bitch. Parents like ok, save my boy’s limbs. After some panic in the hospital, gets some other people and does this miracle surgery of attaching kids hand and foot back on. First real surgery to someone other than himself, shaky and shit afterwards. Dick parents later are like yo, thanks for saving my boy, but I’m not gonna pay you 5 mill, only 500k cause you not even a real doctor, just a student, you could get in trouble if people hear about this. Black jack is like FUCK YOU MAN, SHIT. OK I TAKE YOUR SHIT MONEY. BITCH. anger grows here. Thus the story is set. Probably going to be episoidc. I like. animation is ok, designs are true to the original manga. Ending credits pays homage to original material showing what characters look like in this show and their original designs. nice. Good original old school concept, good flow and pacing. Will probably watch more.
Gakusen Toshi Asterisk – Pretty much this season’s top generic high school fighting/battle anime harem kind of show. Generic yes, but it does it pretty good. Good character design and good animation. All the girls i’ve seen are pretty attractive and cute or have the typical archetypes for this kind of show. Main guy is generic pro guy who is kinda bad with girls but is actually super pro with skills and shit, tolerable, not bad as others I’ve seen but still suffers the usual “oh noes, i saw your panties/boobs/touch your boobs/ass syndrome please get angry at me and beat me up because I don’t’ know how to react to girls syndrome”. Story/world follow along the lines of some shit happened in the world and now some people have powers and shit, and because of that we have a special school in some isolated place to train people and such, etc etc battles between fractions kinda like gladiator areas matches of some sort. weapons are kinda like mechanical and HAS LIGHT SABER SOUNDS. Main girl is like princess and stuff, has fire magic, like a wizard and mage, pretty good looking design, personality is slight tsundere but like tough princess girl, ok. Main guy is just good at sword I guess, typical. Setting is modern-ish near future. We got something along the lines of battle rankings and other fractions/schools i guess. Main guy trying to find out what happened to his sister/missing/dead went to school before. Intro op is pretty nice, trance typical anime song fare, saw other girls to be in the show, looks pretty good. has usual racist Chinese fraction, at least Chinese girl looks pretty cure. Good op animation. I don’t usually watch this kind of bait anime but I think I’ll watch more.
