Cover Art: Awww mannnnn, it’s Sakuya Brando, ruining your shit, crushing dem skulls, summoning da worldo! Badass and jokes as fuck. lol. So yea. This particular cover album features Jojo’s bizarre adventure stardust crusaders main villian Dio Brando as Sakuya from the touhou fandom originally appearing from embodiment of scarlet devil stg game, or is it sakuya as dio brando? Whatever, I love this kind of illustration especially if the cross characters/roles match. lol
Album Review: Undead corporation is actually a real Japanese metal band but they also do cover albums of touhou music which can evidently be seen. Guess more than one of the band members likes their anime, games and shit. The genre is typical melodic death with female vocals and death growls which is good. The songs themselves are re-arranged metal versions of popular touhou songs with original lyrics and vocals. The tracklist is actually pretty thin, there is something like 14 songs, half of them are just instrumental versions of the first half of full songs. Touhou metal is not something new as many others have done the same before, but I must note that this is probably one of the better ones. The riffs, melodies and tempo is there for melodeath, nice.
The female lead vocal is ok, her voice is nothing to get excited about but you still must give her points for it being all English and half-decent sounding, the death growls are good too but there are times when the guy gets too extreme and ends up sounding like a dying pig, kind of annoying. There’s not much else to say about this, there are about 2-3 solid songs, rest are ok seeing that they are just full instrumental versions. While overall a good offering, I just can’t justify giving it a 7 just for the cover art alone, the lack of songs and some questionable vocal work bring it down.
