2016 overall has been a crazy year filled with perhaps some of the most horrible events in recent memory and will probably go down in history as the start of a new global era dominated by isolationism, anti-globalism, far-right populism, anti-intellectualism and perhaps war and new global tensions, literally a re-shaping of the current world order and status quo. Sure there have been many good things that have happened, I finally got a new job and the job is pretty darn good so far, good high-speed internet in Canada declared a basic right, my mom retired; so that’s good; and a great number of good things have happened for friends and family on a personal level; but damn everything else is overwhelming negative.

Aside from the long list of famous people that have died this year most notably: David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Prince, Mohamed Ali, Anton Yelchin, Arnold Palmer, Fidel Castro, John Glenn, George Michael, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds;  my grandmother on my mother’s side also died earlier this year. Fuck. Then we have the Brazil Olympics, it was shit. Then we have the huge list of terrorist attacks and mass killings/shootings around the world such as in Florida, France, Brussels and the use of cars/vans as weapons for killing people. All Toronto sports teams lost. The TTC is more shit than ever before. Traffic and city infrastructure is the worse it’s ever been. Food and shit is getting more expensive. The hottest summer in recent memory. So far one of the coldest winters in recent memory. Many deaths and shit in the city. Condo is further delayed. ISIS. Civil wars in middle east. Clowns terrorizing children. All DC superhero movies were shit. Popular youtube and meme culture was stagnant as shit this year. Young children more stupider than ever before with technology. Philippines president Duterte, crazy asshole. Russia ruining your shit. South Korean president is crazy cult women, impeached. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 explodes. Boats getting more bullshit with every event, still Flash, still full of shit. CDN to YEN exchange rate is horrible. Eating any deli meat found to cause cancer. Fake news etc the list goes on.

But without a doubt the top 2 worst things that have happened this year is Brexit and the election of Donald Trump as the next president of the United States. FUCKKKK. With Brexit I think England will find their way around and eventually be ok, but in the short term, they will be shit when they do leave the EU, triggering potentially the collapse and dismantlement of the EU itself. Fuck. For Trump and America…oh god that’s a different story all together. Trump could very well be the end of American supremacy in the world as a leader, at best; and at worst, the fire starter to potentially the end of the world as we know it, in one way or another economically or geopolitically, disregarding all the shit’s he’s also going to bring up with social issues domestically.

Goodbye 2016, I am not dead yet. Hopefully 2017 will be better but with the recent trends in the world, I am feeling it will be more of the same, if anything, shit’s just getting started.

The seeds of ruin have already been planted.
