Heroes of Kancolle Fall 2016 Event

Here we are again, another boats Heroes of our time for Fall Event 2016. Overall I must say that this event was pretty difficult overall due to a variety of factors, namely the ship locking if you were trying to aim for a difficulty greater than easy. Yes, it was such a bitch that I gave up and went in all guns blazing ez mode by the time I finished E3 normal. Just getting to E3 for me at that point was such a struggle. E1 I was all like, yea, lets do this shit on hard so I used under leveled weaker boats in order to clear it and save my better boats for later but because of that it look me alot longer than I expected to clear it, I think I went though over 100 buckets.

After finally clearing that bullshit, I went on to E2 and set the bar lower to normal. I honestly can’t remember if E2 was bad or not, kind of forgettable but still took me longer than usual because of ship locking handicap. Then came E3, then my patience was tested with the new enemy combined fleet. This was annoying as fuck. Fuck. I don’t really remember what I did here or what was involved, I just remember that I couldn’t kill the boss at last dance and the entire stage eating up huge chunks of resources.

I finally gave in and swapped in some of my stronger boats that I was trying to save and beat that shit on normal and with less than 20k each for fuel and bauxite after when it was done. This list mainly comprises of boats that I used in E4 and E5, because I don’t give a shit, these guys are the real MVP of this event. Fuck E1-E3.

10. Kitakami/Abukuma

As usual these fools always end up being on the list, sometimes higher, sometimes lower I suppose. If I had decided to go ez all the way they probably would have been higher since I would have used them in almost every map, but this time only E4-E5 I think.

9. Akagi/Kaga

I know that these two are outdated in comparison to the superior Crane sisters kai2 but guess what? I don’t have that fucking catapult thing to get there there. Fuck it’s so bullshit. But in any regard, Akagi and Kaga once again formed the backbone of my carrier fleets used in some of the earlier maps and a staple in E4-E5. Can’t complain with blue and red all the way yo.

8. Shigure/Yuudachi

Hello waifu destroyers, we meet again. Yea, I know I didn’t use you guys much this event because I tried to save you for ship locking purposes but if I went ez mode all the way, you would be used a lot as usual. Pretty solid, pretty poi.

7. Taihou

Whoa whoa whoa?! Taihou higher than Akagi/Kaga? Yep. Why? Because your more durable than them and I don’t think even once you were hit in the red, while the former two were sometimes wrecked like in Midway but yea, you were good and reliable.

6. Iowa

Only used Burger boat once I think, E4 maybe? Yea. E4. What an annoying stage. You did your shit as a fast battleship but with stats rivaling the pure battleship. But seriously, your on here because you made America Great Again in order to get your fellow American boat prize at the end of it all.

5. Choukai

You got the glasses, you got the uniform, you the sexy nice flight attendant this time around! So, where’s Maya this time? Well, normally Maya would be here but I needed a really strong firepower heavy cruiser so, yea, you can’t get any better than Choukai really when it comes to pure stats. She was used in almost all stages except for 1 I think; even when I abandoned normal and hard for E4-E5, I still used her, cause she’s just that strong and reliable. Yea, you nice.

4. Yamato

The Hotel makes it appearance after again after a hiatus from the last few events. E4-E5 pure battleship power fuck yea. Nuff said. Yamato is so good if you have the resources to burn, and I had a lot to burn after getting tried of the shit in E3. Rushed that E4 shit, those bad guy boats didn’t know what hit em. No regrets, thousands of steel burned, no regrets.

3. Akizuki

What would this list be without Akizuki or some other AA-cut in boat? Then this wouldn’t be kancolle, the flash browser game that that fucking loves carriers, planes and air battle. So yea, it was either Akizuki or Maya, but I actually didn’t’ even use Maya once this event due to ship locking and by the time E4-E5 I went with Choukai for power. But really, I used Akizuki in basically every map that called for heavy air battle power and she performed great as usual. Due to the nature of these events, Akizuki would normally be crowned the Hero of our Time because of her sheer reliability and amount of use she got in this event, but this time she will have to play second…or third fiddle to…

2. Nagato

It says something when they have fairy Chibi Nagato on one of the official event banners, it’s like saying; “hey, I think you should use me this event, I’ll be pretty useful.” And useful Nagato indeed was. While only used on E5, the final map, Nagato played a huge role in clearing and beating the jellyfish boss. Due to some historical reasons, they buffed Nagato’s damage to the boss node like 2.5 times, so during shelling phases, she was dealing something like 300-500+ damage, holy shit, that’s a lot of damage. However, while extremely useful, the title of Hero of our Time goes to…

1. Prinz Eugen

Because she got boss node buffed 2.5x as well for E5 and the fact that I used her more through the other event maps. I never intended to do E5 on hard or even normal so i used Prinz in E2 and E3 as well, and of course she did her shit well. When time came to E5, I was ready for the bomb dream team of Nagato in the back and Prinz in the front, fucking nuked that jellyfish to another dimension. Prinz ultimately got the final kill clear so yea, pretty much the icing on the cake and solidifying her position. The actual E5 boss node wasn’t that bad if you had Prinz, Nagato or some other shitty light cruiser that no one cares about, due to the bonus damage; getting there on the other hand was such a pain in the ass. Fuck. You had to do all those perfect land air base defense, stray around and kill some other shit to unlock a closer starting point, shit. You literally could not beat this stage unless you unlock the “secret” starting point because you would run out of fuel and ammo and would probably be in the red long before even reaching the boss. But in any regards, congrats Prinz, you are the Hero of our Time, because you blew shit up and are cute.

Honorable mentions: All those other boats that I used in E1-E3, I think there was some shitty CVLs, CAVs and destroyers and maybe a Kongo class or two. Decent but failed too many times to even rank or be named.
