Ayanokouji Aoi is from Sengoku Tenshi Djibril, which from what I remember was a popular erogame by frontwing with it’s franchise roots dating back to probably over 10 years ago. I have never played any of the games but I might have stumbled upon one of the series ero anime adaptions many moons ago, can’t remember. Either way, she is from the fourth game of the franchise, not that it really matters to me obviously as this figure was basically an impulse buy from hobbysearch.
Hobbysearch and Amiami have periodic sales approximately before the end of each fiscal quarter where they need to clear out overstocked inventory and figures, this is usually a good time to pick up figures that you might have had your eye on before but for whatever reason couldn’t afford it or reasoned it was not worth the launch price. I’ve seen Ayanokouji Aoi around for a while but not knowing the character she was just a topless black haired bunny girl in a white sukuzimu and thighighs which I totally dig but yea price. When she was put on discount for like 40% off 4-5 months later I couldn’t resist and caved to purchase. This was like 6-7 months ago I think?
When figures go into the bargain bin that usually means one of two things. 1. the company producing it overestimated demand and made too much, despite a good final product, people just didn’t buy it for whatever reason or 2. the figure looked great in prototypes but when it came into production the final product looked like shit and no one ended up buying it at all. Luckily this figure would go into category 1, it’s a great figure but nobody brought it and honestly you can’t blame them.
Produced by Orchid Seed, they are excellent figure manufacturers with one major flaw; they fucking take so long to get anything made. Initial sightings of this figure and or early prototypes date back to 2012, that’s about a year after Sengoku Tenshi Djibril 4 was released which is fairly normal. However, this figure was finally released in 12/21/2015. What the fuck, that’s like 3-4 years since people first saw it and since the game’s release. What the fuck. No wonder it went into the bargain bin fairly fast, fucking no one even remembered the game or the character. It doesn’t help that the figure itself is based off of some one off random illustration of the character as seen below.
Combined with the fact that it’s not even Aoi’s “normal” clothes which is something of a ninja sukuzimu bunny scarf getup pictured below and the simple fact of well; bare naked boobs with no option to cover her chest or optional parts, and you automatically turn off maybe about 60-75% of the figure buying market simply due to the sheer default lewdness factor of this figure.
But if you take her for what she is, literally a topless black haired bunny girl in a white sukuzimu and thighighs which is sitting with a surprised expression then you can’t really complain at all as the quality of her paint and sculpt is solid.
Another view directly from the front. Look embarrassed enough to me. Sukuzimu is perfect for showcasing the less prominent aspects of the female form such as thighs and tummy area which are done well for Aoi. I suppose it’s also easiest to produce to in comparison to her normal clothes…
Her boobs are not big, actually in comparison to what I currently have, Aoi is probably one of the smaller bare boob lewd figures that I own, which goes to show you how much the bunny factor really went into the thought of this purchase..she also looks kinda similar to Mio from K-on so you can also derive that angle as well to justify the purchase for some.

Nice leg action going on here. Sitting figures are so much more space efficient than ones that require a base to stand on, but on the other hand they are limited in what you can do for poses, cuz well, they are sitting after all. Aoi actually comes with a base but seriously, why would you even use it? She’s already sitting on my table, what’s the use for a plastic base?

Orchid Seed has always done a great job at quality control, you can almost guarantee a solid final product…just that it will take a few years to get to market, quite literally. I’m not particularly fond of animal glove/hands but in this case they are tolerable as her bare boob draws in any attention going elsewhere anyways. The same can be said for her fluffy thing around her neck, not really a fan and you can actually remove it if you want but I figured to just keep it on to match her hands. She has purple eyes but it’s kind of hard with my lighting and even after processing which I must admit this time was kind of shitty. Yea, sitting figures are not exactly the best for photography. Ah-well, it looks great on my glass podium anyways. There’s not much else to say about this figure, Aoi is a solid and good quality lewd bunny figure, another good one to add to my collection of boob figures.
