Alright then here we go, Saturday. Having picked up the necessary tickets already I am spared of lining up to buy them. Ah yea, feel the privilege. Walking to the venue you can tell it was more crowded than yesterday but for some reason, it just seemed less populated in the morning, dunno. Anyways let’s continue on with the highlights of the day.

Oh shit we got our boi, main protagonist of Persona 3, the game which made persona a thing and by many fans the most “Savior” of heroes compared to recent titles. She was wearing earbuds but took it off when I asked her for a photo, too bad cause that’s actually kinda in character anyways.

Oh hay it’s a Megumin from Konosuba. Not bad overall but I don’t quite think the yellow/green hair was part of her design. Would have been nice to have a staff too. There was actually quite a lot of Megumin’s throughout the day but I didn’t get a chance to photo them cause they were either too far away or busy doing some other shit.

Final Fantasy 15 cosplay of one of the few female characters in the game, Cidney. I haven’t actually played or watched the game since I’ve kinda fallen out of general interest in the FF series but eventually will experience it one of these days. Don’t know much about the character and I think she is a NPC anyways but damn, this cosplayer did a great job. A+ for sexy body and overall accuracy.

Inside we have a Archer and Rin. Heh. Decent job overall. I find that Fate cosplays work well in pairs cause you know, mana transfers and all that between couples.

Improved display of a few weak artists. The improved display will bring them good fortune and riches.

HOLY SHIT. OH MAH GAWD. OH NOE. WOW. The effort and accuracy of these Jojos cosplay is amazing. Look at those arms and shit on grandpa. I don’t even know how they achieved this. Hmm, in the dealers room they brought some gachapon machines. The stuff in them were ok I guess but not really my thing. Kind of baity I would expect.

There were a lot of high profile ace artists that did this in the dealers room since the corruption of artists alley/randomess is just too much.

I’ve been seeing these crazy magical girls with staffs and hammers throughout the convention in large groups. Only asian girls do this cosplay, most likely fobby 80%+ and I still have no idea where these characters come from. Mobile game, chinese comic? Communist propaganda? At least I know Pikachu and blue turtle here.

Oh look, it’s a famous artist that I can’t remember the name of but I have brought art from her in the past. Looks like business is doing good. Would have been better if her display wasn’t so shit and in a bad location.

Got some Hank Daddy’s BBQ truck. For a convention these prices were actually not too bad. A bit surprising actually. Nice hair bro.

Got the Beef Brisket Sandwich with coleslaw. Overall pretty good. I wasn’t expecting basically a beef version of pulled pork but whatever, still gud. The coleslaw had dill and was a bit too acidic. Don’t give a shit still ate it.

Some more My Hero Academia cosplay of easily provoked main rival guy nd floaty bubble pink main girl. I wonder why not too many people do the main character. Probably cause he’s a wuss. Ok, but could have been better, seems to be missing a guy called ALLMIGHT so C-

Right beside them is FF15 main character Noxus I believe. Cosplay is good. Nose way too big. Get a sickmask and you’ll do even better man.

Had trouble identifying this cosplay at first but I have been told that this is kinda of an original pokemon mecha thing. Not sure but ok.

I believe a crowd was gathering to celebrate the fruits of new age asian pop music culture (K-pop) with song and dance. The dance was whatever, the background crowd however is A+

How sad. Remember this corner? This was where the league cosplay shoots traditionally took place. A shadow of it’s former glory. So shit and sad. No attention or crowd like back in the day. So we have kancolle boats right? Apparently so on Saturday for some reason. Got Kashima cosplay? Yep, still one of the most popular characters. A++ cosplay. The only thing preventing S is if she had her boat parts. Excellent job.

Excellent cosplay of Youmu from Touhou. Maybe Touhou cosplay isn’t so rare after all. I’d like to think it’s the same frequency as boats but maybe not, boats is less. Needs more sword however A+.

So I went into some panel not knowing what the hell it was about thinking it was whatever. Turned out to be a panel for a youtuber named littlekuriboh that does voice acting for abridged parody of anime and shit. Today was about CARDO GAME YuGiOh. After leaving early went to go see AMVs but got in early and it was gothic lolita fashion show still running. Cool, maybe I can see some cute girls in cute clothes.

Decided to go to the cosplay masquerade. Hm. Kinda funny how the cosplayers in the audience were not bad as well. Dark lights shit.

This old man is the shit. I think he is one of the main guys who organizes this event, him and his wife I think. Up there with cosplay legends. Good job.

They introduced all of the “professional” cosplayers to be judges for the event. This judge was said to be a local and I thought her cosplay was pretty cute/sexy. Great legs.

Some of the cosplay skits were totally WTF. This is one of them. WHY are you wasting my time with this shit. This is supposed to be Gordon guy from Half Life 2. Fucking guy doesn’t even have his battle suit shit. Just his OG lab coat? I never played the game but I at least I know what he looks like 95% of the game. Other cosplayers were decent but overall kind of a disappointment and waste of time. You see far better cosplay outside of this event with people just walking around casually.

Walking back outside in the main pathway. Saw this Love Live! Nico with glow in the dark lights and shit on her skirt. Nico Nico Ni Niceu!

Overall Saturday was a very busy day with very little downtime. Well what do you expect? It’s fucking the most busy day. However like I mentioned earlier, even though it’s Saturday the traffic and attendance was noticeably less than previous Saturday’s from years past. If I were to compare I would say that it was a good 20-30% less than last year, which I think was super crowded. I don’t know, I guess all the work of AN trying to reduce attendance has worked, leaving only the real fans willing to pay the big bucks to end up going. $45 dollars for a Sat only pass is pretty steep, eliminating many of the casual onlookers and fakers that are predominant at Fan Expo. Cosplay was good. Dealers were good, great deals from Harry T’s. Good programming. Good organization. Good shit. But less people. Hmm. Fine by me.
