Heroes of Kancolle Spring 2017 Event

Another spring that another kancolle event cleared once again. The prizes this time around were less that spectacular with the best thing probably being the prototype flight catapult being a default clear reward for e4 and maybe the new Russian battleship, Gangut. Yea, let’s just say that they are kind of a disappointment overall so far.  The event itself was alright, fairly manageable and while as usual kind of bullshit, I have no regrets going full on fuck it ez mode after clearing e2 hard. For me my experience was like this: e1 hard – subs subs subs, SUBS! NOP. Opening sub attack mutherfucker! e2 hard – WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS BULLSHIT. stuck in last dance. get lucky final kill. shit man. e3 easy – Nop, not doing anymore hard, ez time. e4 easy – Yass, catapult get. e5 easy – 2 bosses, 1 combined carrier fleet ez mode explosion bitch for mother Russia. Yea. Anyways here are the boats that deserve the attention of being the heroes of our time that got me through this shit with minimal effort.

8. Isuzu/Ooyodo

E1 is all about anti-sub shit so these guys got the job well done. Izuzu is the shit with her opening anti-sub attack built in and it’s rare for me to use Ooyodo outside of monthly medal quests. Good shit anti-sub boats.

7. Suzuya/Tone

After being upgraded to kai2, Suzuya is the shit for strong ass CAV while Tone remains the og strong CAV as ever. Used in like most of the maps that required CAV, meaning almost all of them.

6. Akagi/Kaga

Standard carrier girls. Got their shit done and got shit done well. No complaints from me here from shibafus only successful designs, barely that is.

5. Taihou/Saratoga

Taihou and Saratoga were overall superior in this event cause yea, stats and power in comparison to Akagi and Kaga for obvious reasons. For once I was well eqiupped with half decent carriers and the fact that the air power needed for easy stages weren’t so bad. Either way I think the last or second last stage had some shit about if you had a red plane or a select number of planes eqiuped you would do more damage to the boss. Did that shit, done that ez bombing. Good job OP carriers.
4. Yamato/Musashi

Yes, once again any event that allows me to use the strongest firepower battleships is a good event. Yes, things were good. Have both, might as well blast away the bad guy boats into nothing muthafucker. Yamato/Musashi are the shit.

3. Iowa

Do you know what’s more OP than Yamato class? Iowa class, that’s what. Iowa is so OP it’s laughable every time how I am reminded that she is classifed as fast battleship thus allowing me to put her in escort and shitty carrier combined fleets and shit to maximum effect. Pretty much no downside to using Iowa. If you put her in your fleet, she’s going to do well. Making America Great Again 2017 4 lyfe.

2. Kitakami/Abukuma

These fuckers are still here huh? Yep, I’d like to think that the entire CLT class is bullshit and opening torpedo strike is a broken mechanic that literally makes it mandatory in events. Bullshit but what can you do. A mistake by the developers no less but still can’t deny the sheer power and usefulness that these guys get in pretty much everything, it’s disgusting but give credit to where it’s due.

1. Maya

And here we are again. It’s Maya that claims the title of hero of our time cause serial, she’s OP CA. Anti-air cut-in AND double attack AND possible night cut in attack depending on setup? Shit. Maya-sama is da bomb. Throughout the event I relied on her to provide anti-air cut in and when it mattered, also high damage with accuracy without fail in those tight situations. I think she got some last kills but can’t remember. Ahwell, there is no other CA that offers as much utility as Maya so she deserves the title again. Good job Maya-sama.

Honerable mentions: Sub girls, I-13 cause I needed them in one of the maps, can’t remember which one. Destroyers per usual Poi and friend, and a few others such as beaver. They all did their part but weren’t spectacular. Tried some Italian CAs, kind of failed me but they tried so worth a mention.
