Today is called LINE con, cause that’s what everyone does, line up for stuff. Everything pretty much. Luckily there is no concert today or else our shopping time would be crunched further.

I would never get on this thing ever throughout the next 4 days and ended up waiting in front of the hotel for like an hour before eventually saying fuck it and just walking it as well.

Inside 95degrees bakery. Not your usual Chinese bakery by any standard, more like Asian fusion western bakery because their stuff reflected that description and was more pricey that the ghetto stuff we have back at home.

Kentia Hall is the location of artist alley, autographs and shit. It’s the first year they had them in the lower basement floor I believe.

While waiting the zerg rush to get int they pulled out these Japanese drummers on the left and right of the main doorways. It’s kinda a festival after all I guess. Pretty hype funny real shit. lol.

After an initial rushing inside of the main doors, you can’t really stay their for long because it’s already crowded with people lining up for merch. I headed straight to Arc System Works booth first. Saw this nice RWBY cosplay of Blake, professionally paid by ARCSYS of course since they were pushing BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, their newest game.

They had a few consoles setup to play, I didn’t bother.

In line now to buy stuff, compared to other places, this is like laughable small.

I think I wait for only like 20 minutes to get to the store booth. Brought some shit, lots of shit in fact. Brought all the acrylic stands of noel and makoto, limited event only shit.

My next location to line up. Idea Factory booth where they were promoting Super Neptunia RPG an upcoming game made in collaboration and developed by a Canadian studio in Quebec, good shit.

So to line up for the store they give you this cardboard ticket to line up in queqe. There was too many people to they tell you to come back in like 15-30 minutes or so. So I decided to kill a bit more time elsewhere.

Arcsystem works booth is like right next to them so just hung around there for abit.

Nice Noel cutout and schedule of events. I wanted to get Toshimichi Mori’s autograph, the creator/producer/director of Blazblue but I didn’t know at the time that it would be futile.

That blake cosplayer must be pretty bored already if no one is asking her for photos.

They had a Ruby cosplay employee/girl have people sign up to the Arc System newsletter and if you do you get a little pin of Hakuman. I was already signed up so yea, I’ll do it again for the pin.

Spent a few minutes here, like 15 minutes in the “Fake” line to line up. Notice the girl holding the “End of the Line” sign. Fuck. Ended up having to get further back when they told us our ghetto line was not valid because there was another “official” line to line up on the other side of the wall.

I wanted to get one of these Acrylic artboards, also known as Giclees but I dunno, they so big and very expensive. I think $300 each.

On the wall art we have stuff like this. Pretty funny. The character art is the actual hand drawn sprites that are going to be used in the newest Neptune game., done by the character artist Tsunako herself, which is the company’s first 2d adventure rpg. Good shit.

Going inside the “18+” designated area, which is not really accurate because many other vendors and booths are also 18+ adults only. So kinda weird that this section was done like this.

So like, cygames had a little scavenger quest game where you go around doing stuff in their booth and get stamps for doing tasks. If you compete your task you get some codes in game and a bellringer angel pin for free. One of the tasks is playing a match of shadowverse.

This kind of shit here, acrylic standees is like ALL the range the past 2 years I think. Everyplace has them, I brought some from both Arcsystem works AND Idea factory. Even cygames made them for Grand blue.

Some very nice shadowverse pin collections by craft. Bellringer angel pin you can get for free by completing the scavenger hunt.

So yea, I am here for the Idea Factory panel with the creators of neptunia. Producer Mizuno and illustrator/character designer Tsunako were there. I have no photos or videos of them here but it was a pretty good panel. They showed us video of the new Super Neptunia RPG game being developed in Quebec and some behind the scenes character concept art while being developed. Tsunako also did a live drawing sketch on the big screen while they took Q and A. Good shit.

Panel ended and went to the washroom. When I got out I noticed that the guys organizing the idea factory panel were just leaving too. The women with the red bag on the far left is Mizuno, the series producer and to her right, the very short women is Tsunako. lolol so in the end I did kinda get photos of them. Stalker photos but whatever.

Due to the nature of the hobby industry, shit like this gets very expensive for rare goods. Like this Selvaria model kit is $550! And you have to assemble it yourself! Even pre-painted PVC figures aren’t that expensive….at least not yet. But then again, this one is HUGE, it’s 1/4 scale, so yea, price be justified.

Tho I must say they do look pretty good. Different from the current famous Alter figures for Neptune.

At this time it’s kind of like late afternoon like past 5pm. I didn’t have anything to eat all day and just had some buns from this morning for food. At least they have a cafe down here but nah, I didn’t eat here.

I walked around for a few minutes down here and before I knew it they announced it was time to go, they closing up for today. Wow shit time moves so fast.

On my way to meet the crew when I saw this cosplayer. At the time I had no idea who she was but now i know it’s from FGO. Can’t remember the character however. lolol.

Dinner at Lawry’s Carvery in the nearby shopping/dining complex. Pretty solid roast beef sandwich and mac and cheese. I accidentally left my tube at this place and only realized it a half an hour after we had left. Luckily they were just closing up when I rushed back and collected it. It wasn’t at the table we were at but I had to ask the people in the back if they found something and they did. Lucky me I guess? Fail avoided?

Afterwords I decided to go back into the con area, they still had panels going on after hours so I decided to check them out.

No concert today, still very busy at the Microsoft square thing.

So I was waiting here for a while to get into a QA session with famous ero artist Ishikei but apparently the panel was filled and I was out of luck. Or so it seemed, or at least the organizers say. So here’s the thing at AX, there are levels of privilege one needs to acknowledge: Premiere Fans, and then everyone else. If you are a premiere fan you get early access and first dibbs to EVERYTHING even though they aren’t really supposed to at times. I asked the women in charge where normal attendees line up for the panel, she said go outside the building, there should be a line. WTF is she talking about. Just a few minutes ago she said there were no more seating and now they telling me to go outside building to line up? Shit makes no sense. There was another line just for Premiere Fans to get in while they essentially say to everyone else, yea fuck off you plebs. Fucking rude as well. Lest to say I didn’t even bother lining up outside and decided to just go back to hotel, waste of time but at least I got a few mini stories out of it.

The Neptunia VII mini book I got for free because I asked the women at ideafactory booth if they had anything else to sign because I had spent over $100 and got a ticket for a signing of Tsunako and Mizuno tomorrow.  Not pictured, blazblue cross tag poster that I indented to be signed by blazlue producer.

Black long boxes are shadowverse pin sets, got blood and forest. I wanted shadow aswell but it was sold out first, shit man, this was like only 2 hours into the con. Love live penlight that Mark got us because he hero’ed it up camping for it. Fighting game shirts. Big Nepgeardam posable plush. The little square card is what they give you by default to sign if you have nothing else to sign for Tsunako and Mizuno, so that’s why they ended up giving me that free book, since well, I had a nice chat with the women at the store and was a visitor from Canada, so yea, they are cool with giving me free stuff.

The first real day of AX was pretty chaotic, so crowded and the LINE Con is totally real. The first half of the day I did literally nothing else but camp and line up for goods to buy. The other half for me was just trying to scan around the space and attend the Ideafactory panel. That’s about it more or less, I didn’t’ really look at any of the artist alley at all. Today is called buy your shit limited edition goods day, cause that’s what everyone else was doing as well. Worth it.
