Majo no Tabitabi is pretty good shit.
Anime Review Fall Season

Fall Anime 2020 Overview

After delaying for about a month since the airing of the first new shows of the Fall Anime 2020 season, I finally got around to doing a overview review piece of what’s on and oh boi is there a fuckton of shows airing this season. Maybe it’s because of Covid, maybe it’s because of timing or just the Fall season just overall usually having better stuff to watch but this Fall season is really good, there is something old, something new, original and alot of quality content and shows for your anime viewing enjoyment. Outside of watching Hololive vtubers for like 80% of my freetime while also playing my mobile games at the same time stuck at home during the pandemic, it look more effort than usual to write this post cause damn, I’m getting lazy, especially when there is like, no joke 38 shows this season alone to watch the first episodes for, that’s a lot, although about 5-6 of them are just bullshit mini-shows, it’s still quite a high volume. In any case, as it can be seen, I also spent some time to update Good Stuff to a new theme which honestly looks very similar to the old one except for a new header banner image featuring best girl Satania from Gabriel Dropout, which for some reason i’ve been using as my Discord avatar since I don’t know when. What can I say? I like minimalist simple designs. Might as well keep it on brand and consistent I guess with ebi-fri boi too. Anyways, here’s the gud shit below:

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (2020) – Oh boi. Bringing it back from back in the day huh with Higurashi psychological drama and murder mystery spooks. I remember the original anime adaptation was made in 2006 and I still have fond memories of this show since 2006 was a really breakthrough year in anime with iconic shows launching such as Haruhi and Shana among the top of my head. Good times. I think it’s worth updating the show with slightly cleaner character designs for a new generation of youth who don’t know shit so yea, but whether the show follows exactly what the 2006 anime did is still up in the air because based on the first episode already they are dropping major hints and plot devices which weren’t even a thing till later midway though the show. It sounds like all of the original voice cast returned and hopefully the shows lives up to it’s previous adaptation. Make no mistake, the character designs are base ugly/plain because that’s what they were originally were in the visual novel/games, still that’s ok, cause just like Touhou, you can be popular if your drawings are shit, just as long other fan artists take it from there and make it better. Will watch for sure.

Assault Lily – Bouquet – This show reminds me a bit of Nanoha, at least in term of the weapon designs except it takes place in a magical girl school with many girls who are training to be fighters to fight some monsters or something. In essence it’s a magical girl school with battle, some yuri gay and occasional fighting and funny times. There isn’t anything inherently bad with this but it’s somewhat lacking in the character design and world in general. The girls are ok but kind of plain, their uniforms are bland and their faces/hair nothing out of the ordinary. In a lighter season I may have watched this but with so much shows this season I am unlikely to follow this. Not bad but nothing special, not sure if it’s based on a mobile game, media franchise, manga or original but either way they could do better. Pass.

Tonikaku Kawaii – Questionable show about some faggot boy who meets some mysterious girl that he instantly falls in love with and in doing so accidentally gets hit by a car but doesn’t get killed because the girl is super strong and blocked most of the impact cause apparently she is special. She says that she is from the moon or at least it is implied that she is Princess Kaguya from Japanese folk tale legends but she herself doesn’t say, says some shit discussion with boy about getting married to something, boy is all like hell yea but before he passes out she vanishes. Some shit happens over the course of the year and the boy, who was a smart boi trying to get into university, completely looses focus and ruins his live because he can’t stop thinking about the girl and ends up dropping out of school and not even taking the entrance exam and starts working as a convenience story guy because he is ruined. One day the girl ends up knocking on his apartment and says whats up, lets get married now and boy is like shocked but goes along with. Ends up getting married that night with all the proper legal documents in place. They begin to live together. So like yea, I suppose that’s the premise of the show, basically mysterious girl from the moon is now my wife and i don’t even know her. The end. Fuck. This show could have been good but there are so many things about it that are undesirable. Character designs are basic as fuck and plain. Boy is annoying and super faggy, very hate-able. Girl is like whatever, myeteriouss woo woo, whatever. Shit show, next.

100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatte Iru – Looks like our first Isekai/game fantasy world anime since everyone was afraid of Re Zero S2 last season and now they are showing up. This one is mediocre at best with the basic premise of some boy is super boring average ends up getting sucked into a magical world as per usual but this time he is actually not the first. Two of his schoolmates, two girls, one of them being the school idol was first and kind of wanted more people to join the game/otherwold. So yea, it’s not specified how they end up in the game world but they just kind chill in a classroom after school and after some time they go. Sure whatever. The other world has game mechanics and whatnot and UI for inventory and shit. The boy does the job quest and ends up with the class of Farmer, yea, farmer in comparison to like a mage and fighter to his classmates. Some shit happens and they get owned/killed but they instantly revive in like 30 seconds as long as one of them in their party is still alive which is cool, they can basically suicide mission everything and grind out levels and shit. Some comedy is attempted because of this system. More shit happens and are threatened to get all wiped out, which is bad since the popular mage girl tells our boy that if the party is wiped, they all die; for real. Woo woo, twist isekai mechanic spin revealed. Some edge-lord moment happens for the boy and realizes that he loves this world and never wants to go back to his boring life in the real world.  End episode. yea, I don’t think I’ll be watching this unless some fool online says this is the shit because everything about this is mediocre, designs forgettable, the girls are whatever, boy is undesirable and game/semi-iseaki is whatever mechanics. Not enough gimmic or pull. Pass.

Rail Romanesque – This is a mini show parody spin off of the popular visual novel/erogame Maitetsu which is basically about anthropomorphized train girls, yea do I really need to say any more? The girls all have kind of a train uniform/conductor kind of look akin to like 1920-30’s garb which is cool and very cute. I don’t think any of the main girls that appear in the visual novel are actually in the show as characters but i am not sure (maybe future game/sequel?) but they are shown in reference from time to time, since as a self aware joke show, the girls have a lecture about the most important thing about being a conductor/train girl and that is making and selling merchandise, so yea. Being only 3 minutes, it’s good for a watch for some cute girls about trains with no real substance. I am OK with this. Will probably watch because why not.

Jujutsu Kaisen – Not sure what the original material for this show is but it’s kind of shit if it was a manga or light novel. Being a fairly forgetable show, at least to me, let me sum of the things that I can remember. Some hype fag boy, has no family except grampa, grampa dies in hospital, says to grandson, shit don’t be like me, make friends and shit, dies. Boy is all man, sad, and pulls out some shit that was in grandpas house or something that he had, some relic of artifact of vodoo shit, whatever. Boy is part of occult club and gives it to his friends to do shit. Goes away but is confronted with some other guy who is like give me the shit, boy is like, no i don’t have it, why? i gave it to my frends. Oh no, dat bad. Go back to frends, they in trouble, monster doing some shit appear. Mysterious boy fights them off. Cool but it’s not enough more come. Boy gets ahold of artifact from frend. EATS the shit, becomes super saiyan cursed fight the bad thing. Guy is yea boi hell yea, badguy now but inner mind/soul fights the demon. He is no longer demon but ends up fighting demon. woooo. Shit show, Shit everything basically. Not sure who this is for? I’m sure someone will like it for some reason but not me.

Yuukoku no Moriarty – Gay professor Moriarty the show. The end. Yea, to further elaborate a bit more, the main character is professor Moriarty, the arch nemesis of Sherlock Holmes, and does well basically the same thing that a detective would do, solving peoples problems/crimes but instead of resolving the problem in a civil manner to the police, he basically gives his clients/victims revenge against the criminal, which basically means killing them a la punisher fashion. This episode features trying to solve a serial killers that kills young boys, basically he helped the father/mentor of one of the victims track down the rich and powerful killer and well let him kill him out of revenge. Ok sure. The only thing that would make this jokes is if Moriarty was a vampire cause being blonde with red eyes basically means you are either a vampire or Gilamesh from Fate. Yea, not for me, not bad overall but mainly for women I suspect.

Inu to Neko Docchi mo Katteru to Mainichi Tanoshii – Shit mini show about differences between dogs and cats. Not even worth describing any further, shit everything.

Dragon Quest – Dai no Daibouken (2020) – I am surprised they make anime of Dragon Quest stuff, I am not sure if this is related to the games or is some other shit but yea, DBZ style here we go. I didn’t really watch just skipped through the episode since I am very unlikely to watch this anyways. So yea, DBZ Fans, yea boi, for everyone else that has no connection or played any Dragon Quest games, whatever.

Hypnosis Mic – Division Rap Battle – Rhyme Anima – This is a not bad gay show about a bunch of rappers in tokyo because of course it is. The world is explained about some shit or alternate history where after some great war society decided to not fight using weapons because it causes too much destruction and killing. So instead of fighting, all conflicts and arguments are conducted via rap battles among crews and squads, which for some reason loosely align to themes such as, street kid punks, military army boiz, rich wealthy office workers, joke entertainers clowns and I think I am missing one more but I forgot. There is some story going down about some conspiracy or whatever but it’s not that important cause rapping. The production value of this show is surprisingly high and the rapping is actually pretty good with ample special effects and stage changes/hyperbole although some crews are shittier than others. I acknowledge this could be good for some people but it’s not really for me, not gangster enough like this shit. Not bad but unlikely to watch more personally.

Hanyou no Yashahime – Sengoku Otogizoushi – Inuyasha sequel with some new characters and crew I think. Didn’t watch the original show but it seems that if you were a fan of the original back in the day this picks up right where they left off more or less maybe. Not bad, not for me, looks modern vintage with the character designs.

King’s Raid – Ishi o Tsugu Mono-tachi – Truly a trash show that I don’t think anyone should watch or even bother considering unless you are a fan or play the mobile game, which from my understand is what this show is originally based off on. It’s fantasy, there are knights, there are yuushas, magic and swords and some mild drama about not vampires being too OP and humans have to suppress them even though they pretty much are and are actually trying to help humans. I don’t know, animation is mediocre, character designs forgettable, crappy unknown premise, knights and shit. Some boob priest but whatever, next.

Iwa Kakeru! Sport Climbing Girls – Like all sports and hobbies in existence, there eventually will one day have an anime made about it, competitive rock climbing is no exception to this rule, the real question is whether it has gay boys or cute girls, which define how the show will be conducted. This show is the ladder: cute girls, obviously from the name in the title. Yes, cute girls and sports physical activity has been done many times before in the past with great success, first coming to mind is Harukana Receive and Scorching ping pong girls which to me were great shows. On the other hand we also got a vast amount of baseball, basketball, cycling, swimming, gymnastic, figure skating which usually end up pretty gay. Fortunately this show is pretty solid, we have the basic foundations of sport club show, club needs members, small group of dedicated members with a cast of newcomer newbies that are talented, aiming for the top no doubt the nationals. Yes, this is a good show, the girls are moderately attractive and due to the nature of the sport, the show is forced to draw more details and angles that most shows would normally try to avoid if possible. Will try to watch more but we’ll see, this season has a lot of good shit.

Majo no Tabitabi – This is a pretty good show about a young witch, Elaina that got her witch license and is trying to get better and ends up traveling the magical world seeing and observing stuff. The show starts with our young witch looking for an apprenticeship after having just passed the witch trainee license exam, being very talented and hard working, she is the youngest witch to pass the witch trainee license test in the country. Problem is no established witch wants to take her under her wing in town for apprenticeship, probably due to the intimidation of being the youngest to pass the test and publicity that goes along with it. She struggles but eventually is recommended to another witch in the forest which is apparently very powerful and famous in another country, “The Stardust Witch”. She finds the stardust witch and after a bit of mild resistance, she accepts to take Elaina as an apprentice. She is very happy at first but she soon realizes after a month that she hasn’t been taught anything from her master, leaving her to do menial tasks like cleaning, cooking, errands and helping her master bathe. She gets frustrated and confronts her master and after some mild chat, her master decides to test her ability in a battle. Elaina, still a newbie witch, holds her own but gets completely overwhelmed by her master and after defeating her, comments that she is disappointed in the so called youngest witch trainee is nothing special. Elaina cries due to her frustration and defeat considering she was taught nothing from her master; her Master, not expecting her to be so upset and emotional apologizes and tells her the truth: she was hired by Elaina’s parents to be her teacher and give her a tough time on purpose because her parents felt that she was getting too full of herself being the youngest witch to ever pass the exam. Her master tells Elaina that her parents told her how hard she has worked throughout her life to get where she got today and how all of her talent and hard work always was recognized and rewarded, but would be crippling later on in her life if all she has ever experienced was success, that she needed to experience failure, frustration and powerlessness one day because sometimes no matter how hard you work or talented you are, you will eventually fail one day and be at the mercy of others. After they reconcile their relationship and their lesson on humbleness, cue short montage of training and narration by Elaina about training for a year with the Stardust Witch and her passing her test from her master granting her a full witch license and the title “The Ashen Witch” based on the color of her white hair cause why not. At this point for me personally I wasn’t sure where this show was going because the 1 year of training could quite literally be the entire show if it wanted to but it was just a setup for the larger show at hand, basically Elaina’s decision to travel the world, like her master, which promptly left once she finished her training. So yea, there it is, this is a journey show in the same vein and Kino’s Travels, “Winter Tank” aka Girls last Tour, Mushishi aka Best show ever created. This is good, everything about the show is high production value and animation is good, Elaina is likeable and cute enough and has a great design, the world itself is rich with magic and I am sure to be filled with stories mirroring modern times and political, meta-physical philosophical commentary and society and life in general. Gud shit. One of the best new shows this season in mai opinion, will watch for sure.

Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai – Oh boi, here we go, the third generation of the long running live live franchise of anime idol music gacha game fandom. After about two years or so since the last love live anime finished, I was curious to see what they are going to do this time around. Well, this time I would like to call it the revenge of the three stars, as per my sister says it, many of the “main” girls in the new group were once low tier trash characters in the game that somehow ended up getting promoted to the main stage, which is interest and kind of cool in it’s own right. In terms of main character or center of the group, I am not entirely sure still after having watched like two episodes as of this writing, there is a girl with black hair with green tip highlights with twin ponytails that I thought was the main character but it turns out that she is going to be a MAIN supporting character? Meaning that she isn’t actually going to be an idol but just a friend motivation urging the rest of the girls on and stay on the sidelines? Wow, this is kind of different if that’s how they are running with this love live anime where all the previous shows the main center girl in the idol group was the main character, by making the main character not even in the group it really spices and changes things up. Ok, outside of that, the girls themselves are ok in terms of design but honestly, they are not as colorful from a visual standpoint as their predecessors in the sense that I can easily identify the “Pink” girl or “Blue” girl, or “Green” girl etc. This time the theme is very specific, they are idols of Odaiba in Tokyo, aka mall entertainment hub idols in comparison to their predecessors which was just “Tokyo” in general and the countryside in love live sunshine. Right now the show is a bit everywhere since they didn’t really introduce all of the other girls very well or have very little presence at this time, hopefully it comes together and good times are ahead with these three stars idols. Will watch because I’ve come this far.

Senyoku no Sigrdrifa – This is a good show about a bunch of girls that PILOT vintage aircraft fighting some unknown alien invasion very very similar to Strike Witches and even Kancolle on a basic level or any other kind of show in this vein with a light military war backdrop or anything involving girls with planes. What makes this one stand out a bit from the rest is that aside from the good production quality and cute girls is that it actually takes place in the modern times, meaning that in addition to them flying vintage WWI-WW2 aircraft, the rest of the air force/military is flying jet fighters and modern craft, like planes that resemble F-22 Raptors, F-15s that have missiles and shit. The story of the world goes that once the aliens invaded, “Odin” god appeared to the world and gave the world the gift of “Valkyries” to fight the aliens with extraordinary fighting ability to fight off “Ragnarok”; they don’t specifically say “magic” but it is somewhat implied with the main girl, Claudia, a blonde girl that looks very similar to Azurlane’s Warspite flies a modified Biplane that can fire focused beams if she “concentrates” or some spell shit. The other three girls in the squad are pretty cute and have their own traits and quirks and fighting styles, such as speed flying, armor piercing bullet rounds, or like cluster missiles. The show itself starts pretty depressing focusing on Claudia as she ends up being the only survivor again in another air battle with the alien invaders which very much resembles the air battles seen in Independence day, quite literally some scenes I feel are straight up bootleg which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but still cool nevertheless. After the initial sad she gets transferred to Japan to a chill base and meets her new teammates and slice of life mild comedy ensues. For some this show is far to similar to the much more established and famous Strike witches franchise and no doubt I feel most people will tend to drop this in favor of Strike witches due to name recognition which is unfortunate really cause this show could be really good if they play it’s cards right and maintain it’s level of quality. Overall pretty good show, I’ll try my best to watch this one for sure and hopefully I am rewarded because from my understanding, this is an original production, not based off any existing works. Good shit.

Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko – Ahh another isekai show that features a little boy that was re-incarnated into a fantasy world which formerly used to be a manly buff middle aged office salary-man which died in his sleep when he sneezed and burst a diagnosed brain aneurysm. The main gimmick of this show is that when he was re-incarnated into his new fantasy world, he got to keep his memories and got a huge physical strength boost, much stronger than the average man, let alone a little boy but very little magic ability to his disappointment. He tries to boost and get up his magic ability by training and raising slimes and shit which attracts the attention of the local sword police bois. Some shit happens and whatever I lost interest and then fast forwarded to the end. Whatever. This show is not that interesting to me considering that there is a better show where the main character IS A SLIME that is OP that ruins shit; after that, how can anyone watch this show knowing that a superior show already exists. With that said, little gay boy so no, not for me, they try to entice you with some other girl cat girls at the ending which I assume will become his friends or party but it’s just not enough for me. Pass.

Munou na Nana – This is an interesting show because throughout 95% of it’s duration it presents itself as a bootleg My Hero Academia clone focusing on a school that is training kids with special abilities or “Talents” as this show calls them, in the same vein as X-men and professor X’s school for not retarded children to become heroes to do good. Indeed, the first episode focuses on a seemingly boring boy that for some reason gets caught up in the class rep election, our tentative main character is insecure about his place in the school with so many amazing people with seemingly more powerful abilities. He talks to the girl with pink hair beside his desk and they become familiar with each other, the pink haired Girl, Nana; is friendly and very positive, telling him that her power is to read peoples minds, oh ok, Jean Grey bootleg. After some more idle talk and encouragement from Nana, our main boy eventually reveals that his power is to Cancel other’s power (oh boy doesn’t this sound familiar) and voices his concerns about the election and Nana gives him some advice. Some shit happens in the training exercise and the boy proves his worth and he becomes class president. Later on the boy asks Nana to meet him at the cliff near the ocean to speak to her privately about something, most likely to thank her for her support and encouragement. As they are talking and sharing an intimate moment, Nana pushes him over the cliff, unassumingly killing him. lol wut. OK THEN. SO THIS IS WHAT THIS SHOW IS REALLY ABOUT. Basically Nana tells the viewer in self narration that she is an assassin from the government, sent to infiltrate and blend into the school full of x-men and to assess each of the students threat level and kill those with the highest risk factor. She doesn’t even have a talent, it’s all just a lie and pretends that she can read minds, she’s just an ordinary human. The government which runs the school is just a sham, they never intended to train these mutant kids to become heroes, they are just glorified disguised concentration camps, isolated from the rest of the world so that they can contain mutants from the normal human population. The end goals she says is to eventually kill all the students in the school because the government has deemed that all those with powers as potential security risks to become villains and terrorists, thus her being the assassin. The show itself is pretty interesting with a cool and refreshing premise but I don’t know how far this show can go without the main girl assassin, Nana beginning to question her objective and becoming “good” and switching her views/sides because if she doesn’t change in character, this show is basically advocating genocide aka Final Solution Hitler Nazi path in killing deemed undesirables from the world. It will be interesting to see if there is a change in attitude or if the show fully commits to the genocide route and we go full on Anti-My Hero Academia/ Anti-Xmen / Third Reich: Hitler Dream Edition, but we’ll see. The show’s quality and character design is mediocre at best honestly but the premise alone leaves me intrigued, so I’ll likely try to continue watching this until it become shit. Watch more.

One Room – Third Season – Another mini-show season of cute girls talking to you in first person as if you were a dude and interacting and talking with this. Kewl, I think I watched the previous mini-shows so I’ll end up probably watching this as well on the site.

Golden Kamuy 3rd Season – Well now, this is pretty gay, or rather, this show has slowly and gradually become pretty gay. lol. Being the third season of popular Ainu-Pre-WWII Japanese adventure treasure hunting show in Hokkaido, the show itself enters a new phase where the main Ainu girl is split up from the main mad lad solider boi, in searching for the “Truth” of the Ainu-gold treasure, with the former trying to find Ainu girl because she is with a traitor in her party. Or something like that. The show itself is fine and picks up right up from the previous season but man, now that the main lad is just with a party of buff manly dudes, it gets intentionally pretty gay in a humorous joking manner to the point like, wow, this is so gay but it’s still funny because it’s so intentionally done you can’t help but laugh. For example, fucking first episode of this season has all the dudes strip naked and go do Russian wrestling matches because some shit happened and in the next episode after that they have to do it again and they also hang out in a hot springs. lol. Well, the original author of the manga is known to be openly gay but it’s just funny how he’s not even trying to be discrete about it and illustrates his love buff manly gay men lol. In any case the more gay this show is adds another layer of comedy to at it’s height was pretty serious which makes it worth continuing regardless, same good animation, unique character design and story. Continue watching.

Noblesse – Lol. Based on a korean Web Toon comic of the same name I am not sure if this is supposed to be a comedy or as it’s supposedly labelled, a “Dark Fantasy” featuring a bunch of not-vampire people bishonen gay men going to school either as students, teachers or even the principal in order to do good for humanity to be protectors or something like that. Taking place in the modern times, the main guy, a very silent an enigmatic vampire boi with black hair and red eyes does not say much, so much to the point that it’s laughable because he looks so out of place in the classroom. Everyone else looks like kids but this guy, looks like a grown ass man with a drastically different presence and design aesthetic, it’s like wtf are you sure you are a student son? Main boi eating in lunch room with a bib, with two classmates he doesn’t even acknowledge as friends starts budding him up as if they were friends forever, boi doesn’t say shit and just continues eating. Battle between some not vampires and some other thing, boi walks to the area, observes, says nothing and then goes back inside. lol wtf it’s so jokes. The character designs are ok and the premise unknown but that’s ok because they are NoBlEsSs vAmP✝R@s after alll. I’ll try to continue watching until the funney is done.

Maoujou de Oyasumi – A pretty chill jokes show about a princess who got kidnapped by the demon lord and is just chilling in the castle living her life and trying to have a good nights rest at the expense of running amok and causing chaos for her own captors. The princess is pretty chill about getting kidnapped, she doesn’t really care as long as she gets a good night’s sleep which means fucking up the castle full of monsters and ghouls for materials to make her bed and living quarters more to her liking, for example, killing some ghost monsters for white sheets, killing some bear monsters for their fur for a blanket, killing scissor monsters and using their body as a tool. From the monsters point of view this is pretty brutal but it’s supposed to be funny and jokes which it kinda is. She also occasionally gets killed then instantly revived several times because the demon king needs her alive as bait for the YUUSHA to do some shit. Yea yea, sure keep saying that to yourself demon king. The princess is fluffy and sleepy, yea, kinda cute but yea not that cute. The designs are slightly above average and premise pretty jokes but we’ll see if I watch more, there too many good shows this season. Not bad.

Ikebukuro West Gate Park – Show that attempts to be for everyone but is still gay for women about “honorable” gangsters, think yakuza but not really and more hoodlum who are the protags of this Ikebukuro district which is like a de facto police for the community. Main boy is part of the gang and helps some little girl that attacked a building because they were selling drugs and causes her father/brother can’t remember to be fucked up cause drugs/bad etc. Some shit happens and the end up booking the said building that dealt with drugs cause they don’t do that shit. The end. Not for me, not for anyone really. shit.

Guraburu! – Bullshit grand blue fantasy mini show about nothing. Unless you play the game, there is nothing here to see. Next.

Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen – Some forgettable modern day fantasy/school drama rivaling countries show that has elements of Romeo and Juliet relationship between main faggot boy and some blonde witch pretty girl that is supposed to be the most powerful and dangerous of the opposing country. Haven’t I seen this shit before so many times? There is nothing really worth noting there that hasn’t been done before in other similar shows. There is a cast of other side characters with girls with boob and some stoic male fags at a fighting school but yea, modern times so they have cars and city streets and shit for world. Bland forgettable character designs, slow pacing, undesirable main faggot, confusing world, mediocre battles. Whatever next, I’m sure someone will think this is the hottest shit, but nope, not for me.

Strike Witches – Road to Berlin – After a terrible low budget side project trying to recap the previous two seasons of the original strike witches anime in a slice of life gag/comical way I had almost lost hope for this franchise if that was what they were willing to output, but luckily that is not the case and it seems that Strike witches is still alive and kicking in all of it’s mighty high flying no-pants cute girl air WWII battles. Yea, this is technically the fourth strike witches anime, excluding the comedy recap monstrosity and the “Brave Witches” anime which was great, but largely focused on a new cast of girls/base with only minor cameos from the original crew. This time however, it’s continuation of focus on the original girls from the first and second anime series and that is great. The opening animation and Op are great. It’s hard to believe that it’s been like 12 years since the original anime aired in 2008, that’s like a fucking generation of children born that don’t know shit. Good shit overall, will watch for sure.

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear – This is an interesting show, a virtual game isekai hybrid, well not really an isekai but it might as well be since the main character is a girl who dresses in a bear Onesie costume and helps shit in the virtual world game. Yea, that’s about it. It’s a VR game she goes into but for some reason the towns people in the fantasy world are awfully judgemental of her choice of clothing and gear, never really taking her seriously, even though she is super strong and intelligent. The first episode is basically what I just described, some village needs help with some monster that is terrorizing them, no one can/available to take the quest in the tavern but her, she takes it anyways, gets to village, no one takes her seriously, then goes and ends up defeating the monster easily, then the town rejoices. Sure, sounds good but the pacing is a bit slow and there is a bit of uncertainty at least for me if this is supposed to be a serious action show/comedy/slice of life or even a mix of all. The character designs is ok, memorable but nothing that I would want to buy a figure of, although there is already a figure for the kuma girl already up so yea, maybe I’m wrong and this may be the hottest shit this season but I don’t know, it’s hard to tell. Might have to watch more to see, we’ll see.

Akudama Drive – A show featuring the same character designer of Danganronpa franchise of games/anime, Rui Komatsuzaki, so you kinda get a feel already what you are in for. The show itself is about a bunch of criminals in a world where crimes/criminals are ranked based on how bad they are, like for instance if you are a murderer you are like an 8, if you are a pickpocket or something you are 1 or 2, if you are wanted hacker you may get like 5 for something for example, of course it scales based on how bad the crimes that were committed, you get the idea. Some shit happens in the show and all of the underworld criminals get a request to request a super criminal like a level 12 or something serial killer who is scheduled to be executed. A cast of characters are introduced and their wanted rating and their associated crimes, all going in to try and save the super criminal because of a large bounty. Amid all this some innocent girl gets mistaken and gets accidentally thrown into this circus of criminals and now they are forced to deal with the consequences of having saved the super criminal. I am not sure what else this show is about, it feels like it’s based on a game and it very well may be but yea, I don’t think I’ll watch this. It has that street, thick lines, bold neon flamboyant color scheme that I tend to not like and I don’t really know what else is going on. So yea, pass from me, not to say the show is bad, it just doesn’t really interest me.

Adachi to Shimamura – This is nice gay yuri show about two girls that skip gym class and other classes and end up hanging out in a secret/abandoned classroom just above overlooking the gym that has ping pong tables which they play when they are there. There is a small chance that this is about ping pong, but as far as I can tell its just a plot device for gay relationships I would think, too bad, could have been the second coming of scorching hot ping pong girls and the legend of just want to be praised girl. The girls themselves are pretty cute, look like as if from a pastel moeblob show which is good. The show has the kind of school life drama that you see, the two girls skip classes in the ping pong room and chat like they are friends but they are only friends and talk alot when they skip, when they are in class or see each other outside of school, they pretend that they don’t know each other because they don’t want their other group of friends to interact with the other. Awkward. You know that feel. Then some weird shit happens and a mini glowy astronaut appears and does fishing when they are around. Wut, I have no idea but maybe this is some gay parable shit? Not sure, might want to watch another ep just to make sure but yea, probably won’t watch this but we’ll see.

Dogeza de Tanondemita – An interesting mini-show which is basically you are put in the perspective of a groveling high school dude basically praising and begging some girl, asking her to show you her tits. lol what. As a mini show of 3 minutes, that’s all it is, you hear the guy talking, begging the girl to show her tits to you and the girl being embarrassed and trying to get out of it but for some reason, the girl eventually complies and shows you her boobs. lol, what is this. Of course it is censored with some nice stickers but the premise is so absurd it’s kind of refreshing. Girls are whatever but we’ll see, it’s a mini show so we’ll see if I remember to download this shit.

Magatsu Wahrheit – Zuerst – First few minutes of the show open explaining the world and the political turmoil/fractions. Not looking good. Some more explaining and you are looking at some boy, some solider boy. Then you are looking at some random guy you picks up some weapons mistakenly for a delivery package. The weapon smugglers want to get the package guy and their weapon back. Some shit happens and the solider boy interacts with the package guy and the parties/armies fight. They fight with a combination of guns and swords. What the fuck. There are times when they should be using guns but they are using melee, then there are other times they are using melee when they should be using guns. what the fuck, retarded battling going on. Fight is shit, bad angles, terrible pacing, framing, scene execution, laughable. Nothing else to see here folks, just s shit show action/political fantasy drama that tries to take itself too seriously. Next

Taisou Zamurai – A sad show because it would have probably been nice to air before the would have been Tokyo 2020 Olympics had it not been delayed cause of covid. The story is set in the past, in the early 2000’s to be precise and a famous Japanese gymnast is about to reluctantly retire. Getting old and with advice from his coach, saying that he is done for, he prepares his retirement announcement in a few days. His entire life was about winning that gold medal in the Olympics but always came up short with like sliver or bronze, it was his dead wife’s dream, and his young daughter’s dream and way of life that he would train and keep on going for the gold, but is sad that he is going to retire. Before the retirement announcement he and his daughter go on a day trip to a Ninja amusement park and they watch a ninja show, one of the ninjas is very cool and does some shit not expected and ends up running away cause the government or something is looking for him. After the show they go home and they find that the ninja in the show followed them back, ending up being a foreigner that loves ninja and wants to be a real one for training. Aside from this comedy aspect of dumbness, the ninja ends up showing real good gymnast shit, like real good and inspires the main guy to not retire and try for gold again, at the retirement announcement he says that he will not retire to everyone’s surprise and that’s the end of the ep. A not bad show at all, elements of mild gay here and there but I think this is supposed to be for everyone. Good idea and concept but honestly I am not that interested in the subject matter or the story, regardless of how engrossing and fun it could be. Not bad, but not for me in particular.

Maesetsu! Opening Act – This is kind of a weird show in that it’s supposed to be a comedy slice of life gag show but that in itself is put into question when the show is about comedians and a joke club/university/post grad comedian girls trying to make it big, which you would think would be funny, but in reality, it’s not funny, at all. I am not sure if it’s supposed to be funny cause it’s not or it’s just a bad first episode but for me it felt like the entire time it was supposed to be a sequel, not sure but none of the characters were introduced that well, it just goes on and does it thing. The character designs themselves are like slice of life simple life forms, lacking detail and shading in favor for more simple shapes and bright colours, yea i would describe maybe as pokemon+ kind of vibes. Yea I dunno about this one, probably not watch but we’ll see if I feel like ep 2, but unlikely.

Kamisama ni Natta Hi – This show can be summed up as a God showed up as a cute little girl nun and told me that the world will end in a couple of weeks and has all seeing vision of the future and potential universes of probability and shit. Yea, something like that. The main character is some faggot loser boy for all intensive purposes, is shit but ends up having this God girl thrust upon him while he was playing a shit game of ball with his bro while she was watching him and she ends up commenting on the game and some shit. They talk and the girl just ends up following him explaining her power and how she can see the future and whatnot. Of course faggot doesn’t believe it but is forced to acknowledge her power when they are watching a horse race and she predicts the outcomes of all the placings. Some more dumb hi-jinks ensues about him asking if he has a chance with his crush in school and she arranges some shit circumstances where he can confess and ends up trying to do it but the girl straight up rejects him even before he finishes with a resounding “I’m Sorry”, leaving the boy to wallow in well deserved sorrow for a few minutes on the ground, when he rises from the ground it is already dark and the girl just left him in his place alone lol jokes. More shit happens and she tells him that the world will end in a few weeks and he needs his help to help prevent it, sure sure, of course she needs to stay at the boy’s house and it’s perfectly fine yea yea. Yea, this show is ok, it had it’s few moments of funny so it could be good. Not sure if this is a full funny or a combination of other things but the God girl is cute and characters attractive enough. Why do these shows always get the worse male characters, motherfucker shit faggot. Relatively high production and good pacing, well see if I watch more.

Sore dake ga Neck – Bullshit spook mini show slide slide show about some story of a mysterious employee at a convenience store which doesn’t show his face/head, probably because he doesn’t have one. Garbage. Next.

Ochikobore Fruit Tart – This is a pretty good slice of life moeblob comedy about a bunch of misfit girls who end up in a talent agency in a dorm/house but all have different talents/skills/dreams but because the agency is in trouble are forced to become an idol group on a web show in order to get money or else they will loose their housing space with the agency lol. The 4 initial girls range from base main country girl wannabe idol, former child actor who wants to be taking seriously as a actor, a unpopular musician girl and a girl who is an unknown model with big boobs but is very shy/modest. Their shared manager tells them they have to do this and they fight about it with great comedic value about their pros and cons but ultimately go along with it, with their first gig being to just hand out grocery store fliers in the neighborhood lol. The character designs of the girls is very good, unique and colorful yet with a lot of detail and thought put in it as well as their personalities and character types are entertaining and fun too. Overall this show is a combination of Locodol anime, Yuru Camp because the character designs are very similar, especially the main girl with pink hair and a bit of Order is a rabbit for good measure. It’s cute, it’s funny, it’s got cute girls, and the pacing and visuals are on point so is the theme. Good shit, will watch more for sure.

Gochuumon wa Usagi Desuka Bloom – Oh damn, speaking of Order is a rabbit, this is the third season of long running manga/franchise featuring cute girls working in coffee cafes in a not-japan but western style town where their grandpa is a re-incarnated fluffy ball rabbit that can apparently speak now. It’s been a few years since the second season aired but it’s good to see that this show is still popular as ever, continuing where it left off, not that is really matters as most slice of life moeblob shows go but yea, it’s good. The production value is there, the characters look great and shiny even more now, more characters are going to be introduced it seems and Chino is still a baller best girl. Yea, i’m going to watch this for sure.

Anime Capybara-san – Stupid bullshit not even worth mentioning about Capybaras.

And there you have it, this Fall’s Anime season has a ton of volume and quality all jammed packed in for good measure. If there was any question where all the anime went in the past two seasons, well, this is where they all went cause due to Summer and Covid and just the nature of Fall anime seasons being filled with more good content overall, this season is really good, there is something for everyone I would think, sans the Mecha show cause Mecha shows are basically dead at this point. Only gundam can save the genre now, and even then, gundam hasn’t been serious about itself since gundam 00. Ahwell. Good season.

Will try to watch the following:

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (2020), Rail Romanesque, Iwa Kakeru! Sport Climbing Girls, Majo no Tabitabi, Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai, Senyoku no Sigrdrifa, Munou na Nana, Golden Kamuy 3rd Season, One Room – Third Season, Noblesse (lol), Maoujou de Oyasumi, Strike Witches – Road to Berlin, Kamisama ni Natta Hi, Ochikobore Fruit Tart, Gochuumon wa Usagi Desuka Bloom

Shit that’s 13 full shows…I don’t know if I can handle this but we’ll see.
