New York Trip 2025 – Day 3

Alright let’s do this thing again. It’s only been like 4-5 hours since I last completed my previous daily post of memories in the super late night but I gotta wake up again and do it all over again except this time the hololive concert is day 1 of the All For One third EN concert, held at Radio City Music Hall, let’s see how things go today.

I wake up, I require some fuel to start a long day. You know what I can trust? Finn’s bagels, a staple solid bagel place which I have been to at least once in all of my previous trips to NYC, this one is no different.

Got like the same seat that I had in previous runs in the past, guess I am lucky I guess in that regards.

Wanted something a bit basic today so no bacon breakfast bagel this time, I just got he salmon smear as they call it, it’s just cream cheese with smoked salmon bits that they mixed in, it’s like a fancy homemade philidelpha cream cheese spread, but way better. On everything bagel, pretty basic good, I would still prefer more fancy shit like full smoked salmon or bacon but yea, this is for a change, not bad.

In no time I am walking to line up to enter AnimeNYC, looks pretty good and early and with only like 10-15 minutes before doors open at 10am, perfect timing.

For some reason, I guess the universe willed it but the guy I was talking to at Vito’s pizza place yesterday while waiting for pizza just so happened to line up right behind me again, oh shit lol. What are the chances of this happening? It must be like super super rare event occurrence wow. He tapped me on the back and was like, aren’t you the guy I was talking to while waiting for pizza yesterday? And I was like, oh shit yea, I was. Damnn. I told him while I was eating my pizza that night, I thought about how this guy got mugged, hope he has a better experience this time around. I asked to take a photo of him and he said sure, make it a selfie too and send him the pic too. So yea, I have this random guy on my discord now as a friend lol. This is like the grown up version of like kindergarden one day friend, but in this case, it’s more like 20-30 minute friend for the day.

I told him the first thing I was going to do today was redeem my stamp rally card at the hololive booth and he said same, so for at least this duration of time, I was with this random dude waiting in line as well, since there was a short line to redeem the prize at the booth. The prize for getting all the stamps once I got it isn’t really worth it at all, just a set of stickers with the key art from the postcard stamp card but for each individual talent on it. Was hoping for a bit more but it is what is is I guess. Forgot to take photos of the prize stickers are they were in a envelope.

After he got his stamps redeemed we went our separate ways, he was going to check out and camp the Phase Connect booth and wait for his favorite, Uruka to show up on the screen there, ok nice I guess and that was the last I saw of pizza dude this day. He did message me like 1 hour later in discord saying that the best way to help his feet and rest is to just sit down on the carpet at the hololive booth which is kinda jokes. Nice story bro, 30 minute friend indeed. Maybe I will see him tomorrow, who knows.

Unlike pizza guy who, my mission today at the con was to just see and give time to see what else is around, other than the holo booth, like the vendors and most importantly the artists alley since I did it very poorly yesterday. This car and mahjong vendor was here in the past, looks like a downgrade from before honestly, I guess space is expensive now.

Gamer sups/Waifu cups have a booth here selling their anime and game themed energy drinks. I think last year they were competing with Gfuel, but this year I don’t think they even have a booth, hmm, I wonder why.

They have a few samples and flavors now that are literally just vtuber branded/themed such as Shy Lily since they are associated with them for product placement. The other one someone said it like Joe Biden flavor, heh, I guess they didn’t think Trump would win and make their product outdated. I heard the vendor nickname the shy lily one her ass blast flavor lol. They had samples, it tastes like fruity tropical punch.

Uma musume came out in English so recently, like just over a month or so now but it’s like brute forcing it’s way into the western anime cultural sphere with ease. I mean all the merch and shit has already existed for years, just now, people understand who the characters are and what they are about. That hat is so baller tho, Oguri (Cap) literally.

US army/marines here again with their usual get swole carnival game of bar ups.

I give another shot at that vtuber popular artist booth that has a digital que again, Oimo buster. There is already a line there but this time the internet traffic is ok so I am able to connect to the app/site for the line. It says that I am #12.

it says on the site that if your number is under 15 you can line up. If not, you have to come back in x allotted time. Noice looks like it was worth coming here early after all.

You order by adding her various merch items on the cart and then just showing it to her when you get to the front, pretty easy I guess. Least to say I brought a few of her stuff aswell, couple of prints and some stands. I am not entirely sure why she is so popular but I guess because her art is very clean and simple but at the same time, kinda lewd a bit since she draws butts nice, boobs and thighs/tummy’s very nicely. Could also be that she’s active in the vtuber community and is well know, who knows, she might even be a vtuber herself.

Moving along oh shit, it’s pjun! Looks like he isn’t dead after all, just that he made the right move and started going to conventions that are actually kinda good and not settle for AN at home alone. Last time I saw him he was clean shaven, but now he got all beardy with a mustache, looks like he’s seen some shit now, this is the way.

Another interesting artists that has fighting game art and stuff. I asked him if he was at Evo, this year or last, and he was. I guess we missed him. He said that he is easy to miss, especially last year since his location was bad or something. Nice. I brought some shit from him today, maybe review it at the end trip haul later.

There is a lot of random uma musume cosplay around now that it’s popular. This is TM Opera O I believe in regular school uniform. I also see alot of rice showers and some Manhatten cafes too in their unique outfit. Noice.

The quality of the artists at AnimeNYC is very high, almost every booth is very good art and artists, very seldom do you see what I like to call, ‘white people style’ amateur hour shit that I see all the time at AN and FanExpo. Lots of vtuber and popular shows too represented.

Some vendor/artist has a business/shop selling fish related items and goods. It honestly kinda reminds me of Sameko Saba, aka formerly Hololive Gura but not. Not sure if I should get something here as maybe my sister might want something, we’ll see.

Oh shit it’s a blast from the past, spiky hair man isn’t dead after all. He’s back and spikier than ever. It seems that he has improved too in his style as well. Wow.

Vtubers and horse girls, this is the trend this year as of like a month ago and the artists are fully welcoming it in open arms.

Also seen at AN I believe, good shit brought from before I think, just keychains but stil good shit, not today tho.

Suisei and Gigi exchange numbers and some shit about cosplay I would expect.

Gay pillows from Balders Gate 3 I believe, ok sure lol.

More gays, I think some of these are that popular love in deepspace gay game for girls and gays. The fact that these dudes in front of me look like the art, indicate to me that they are in fact, also gaayy.

Wow, such diversity of food. Not going to see shit pizza here that cost $40 here at this con, it’s in new york, you can’t scam people here for pizza, pizza outside is everywhere and better than most of the pizza we have at home in Toronto.

This Neressia fan looking at some art too, not bad.

For a second I thought this was a merch shop but it’s actually a food stall lol. Wow, it could pass for one tho.

Nice, that suisei artist is also here. I think they have a new item? Suisei themed umbrella maybe? wow. Because they are at so many cons I have no idea where they are located, I still feel Canadian but because they appear so frequently they might as well be overseas/taiwan/japan even maybe.

Horse girls and vtubers, they are perfect together.

Damn wow nice, real life Gold Ship and Shuba Shuba Subaru duck art, jokes for the memes I guess. Right beside rice shower and Ina art no less. Pretty good shit.

Horses, pokemon and Miku, wow, is this how it’s going to be huh? I guess they don’t have rules about labeling things as they are like AN does, so sad.

Anyways back at the holo booth Fubuki and Lui are doing a live karoke show for the con floor. Good shit.

Fubuki has some fun with her model and add ons as they sing the autist’s first main anime hit, chainsaw man opening theme song.

Singing Cruel Angel Thesis now, Fubuki is just made to meme you know, Lui just can’t. Jokes.

Ojisan cosplayer I saw yesterday lining up is around in the crowd. He is highly praised. Good shit man good shit.

Rosuuri is also here again, like last year, also a vtuber and makes alot of key art for other vtubers in the industry including holo too, also has figures made of her art. Good shit.

I think I saw this artist before last year, not bad yandere/smug smile miku theme I guess. He has a style, niche.

Black wukong but not asian wut. Nice but he should be Asian for full effect, if Mexican then it’s like aztec monkey god if that’s a thing.

Nice holo art of last night’s syncronize concert world tour. I ended up buying the group print, the artist said I got the last one, noice. Good shit man good shit lucky I guess today.

Brought from this artist last year, the maid frerin and such but there doesn’t appear to have anything new to appeal to me this year, too bad. Maybe next time bro.

Brought from this artist before at AN, in fact, its the same one I brought dupes of and I had to return it because yea, brain malfunction, nice that they are here.

New newish artist with clothing stuff design that I haven’t seen before. They have some guilty gear stuff too which is interesting. I was talking to the artist and she was like yea, they just started their clothing line and wanted to try something iconic and impactful. I told her if you want to make clothes people will buy and wear outside a con, gotta make it discrete like Noms, if she is familiar with it. Then she was like oh yea, I know what you mean, Nom’s is just like right behind me in the adjacent booth in this island cube of booths, all of us know each other, we are friends. Damn, artists man, they really do all know each other lol. Maybe she is a vtuber as well who knows.

Bit odd to see a May cosplay out here in NYC but I’ll take it.

We now move to seeing more of the industry vendor booth areas such as Nikke, selling their merch and goods, not bad.

I am not entirely sure what Monsters We Make is, I couldn’t see but the area was extremely busy, busy with black visitors as well so I have every reason to believe this is some artist or company that is black focused. The concentration was unnatural here.

Nice display and setup for Goodsmile booth and merch goods. I didn’t see exactly for myself but yea, nice minimal line.

Have mixed feelings about GQuuxx but at least it’s bringing new blood and interest into the gundam franchise. This thing was signed by production staff I can assume or voice artists, or at least maybe pretend that the characters signed it, not sure.

It is coming. So peak.

Honda brought their new prototype cars and decked them out to be itaha cars lol. That’s one way to bring attention to your new cars I guess.

Aniplex 20 year anniversary huh. I guess that’s the reason no FGO panel this year, they want to focus on Aniplex in general I suppose.

Inside they have a booth with history of their most popular and successful shows and some stuff artifacts with them.

Peak anime, I haven’t seen the full movie version before but yea, still peak.

Also peak, even tho it’s pretty old now it’s popularity still persists. It’s kinda sad how studio trigger hasn’t been able to reach kill la kill’s level of success for over a decade now, they need to shake things up and go back to their roots man.

Another store showing the latest toys and plush.

That is one creative way to blend your train hobby with your gundam building hobby.

Some new figures from guilty gear, the baiken is old/released soon/maybe I think but the top one is new. It’s mislabeled tho, says it’s from monster hunter, it is not, from guilty gear Giovonna.

A gacha area appears again with more real prizes of recent stuff, no bootlegs here. The location is worse than last year so it’s harder to find and because of that, it’s also less popular a place to see/do at the con.

Ero anime/game material seller. I think they kind of limited their space, I didn’t get a chance to browse since I was in a hurry to get back to the hololive booth.

Last live stream at the con with the girls before tonight’s show at Radio City Music hall. I came with only like 15 minutes left, doh.

It was mainly just a chatting game stream with the audience a would you rather kind of thing but still too bad that I largely missed it since Biboo was there with Cali.

Autofister cosplayers, pretty good shit, hey feeling it.

I didn’t even realize it but there is a really great vivi cosplay in the picture, wow, good shit.

View from above, looking busy past midday, around 2pmish.

From the top level cosplay area looking at the main vendors/artist alley hall. So busy.

Like last year the area is just cosplay space for fixing up shit and also for photo-shoots which is cool

Tanjiro has seen some better days.

Nice saber sitting and fixing her shit.

Bunch of soul eater cosplayers? Wow, when did this get popular again, like 15+ years ago or more? I suppose Netflix did this, the power of ease of access media is always impressive, I mean just look at uma musume.

Neressia cosplayers, both men probably, who knows lol.

Square enix/Final fantasy area cosplay meet up area. I saw a few 2b and A2s around too along with a few Clives.

After a pretty poor exploration of the cosplay meet up area I have to leave the con early at around 3pm to get something to eat and rest a bit in the hotel before the holo concert begins at 6pm. Doors open at 4pm so I don’t really have that much time if security is slow I figured. Also for merch line up too if they have it.

On the way back to my hotel I go to this bodega and want to pick up a chopped cheese sandwhich. I had got it the first time in NYC but not the second, let’s see if this random place holds up.

These bodegas are basically just convenience stores that also operate a small kitchen grill area that makes food, makes sense really. These guys were ordeing some food too, some paninis and other breakfast meals, probably cause it was cheap.

After about a 10 or so minute wait the guy makes me my chopped cheese sandwhich and gives it to me, it has fries with it but I said no fries, he is Mexican so I guess he misheard and took out the fries after I said it again, instead he gives me a regular bag of chips? Sure I guess, hope it was free. The chipped cheese on hero roll is pretty solid, good shit, for like about $12 you can get a full sandwich that beats probably anything that you can get from subway, and tastes better too. Tho I must say that the first chopped cheese I had 2 years ago was better with more meat and searing/crispness. Would again because it’s so close to my hotel,

After I eat and unload my buys for the day, I reorganize my bag and leave my tube in my hotel, begin the walk to the concert, which is about 20-25 minutes. At first there was noone around, but as you get closer you see more and more holofans making their way too, kinda jokes/interesting.

Getting closer. This guy wearing the new bae jacket from ohmonah, not bad.

And so I am here, with everyone else I suppose as well. We made it to Radio city music hall!

Line to get in is on the side with security checks and bag checks, pretty fast and efficient honestly.

Inside now. I have arrived, gud shit. Now the search begins for the merch line.

However, it soon becomes quickly apparent that there is no merch line, wow. I kinda can’t believe it, there is no on site merch this time, wow. I was asking a few random fans and they were like, yea, there is no merch sold here, you have to get your shit online before the concert, wow, I guess that’s how it is now, at least for holo concerts. Now I now.

Proof of existence, inside waiting for concert now, no merch line what do I do know edition huh.

My seat for today is kinda bad, it’s on the third level messinae, arguably the worse because it’s the highest up and furthest from all the action on the main ground floor. It’s almost 1.5 hours from the show start and people are just slowly filtering in I guess.

On the third mezz it’s kind of empty actually, from what I heard from fans over the past few days, today’s show is not actually sold out. In fact, despite it’s scarcity when tickets were first available online, the venue only released some of the tickets, not all, so it made it appear as tho it had fully sold out, but the truth was that there was lots of seats available still. Each week/day they would release more seats and tickets became more and more available the closer it came to the actual concert date. I do not really like this method, as it forces people to check constantly and hope. It could also be that scalpers tried and failed to sell expensive tickets, and this is the results.

Anyways, proof of existence, ready to roll but questions why is there so many empty seats. My entire row was like empty and the front in from of me only has like 5 people in it? why? I will never know for sure.

Brought my plushies to show them the support. Biboo here.

And Irys too.

As we approached 1 hour before the start of the concert I began to wonder where all of the people where, and it turns out a good chunk, I would say probably 50-60% of all the attendees were outside in the lobby, waiting in line for selfie/photos of a concert art wall and flower displays for the girls. Damn, I guess that makes sense, if your here so early and no merch line, the only thing to do is wait in line for this key photo of this concert wall and flower stands. The line was so long and crowded, I didn’t even get to see the wall or flowers. Before we knew it, it was like 20 minutes before the show start and they made an announcement to go back to your seats lol. Well time wasted I guess successfully.

There was no cameras or photos allowed once the concert started so from here on out I can just say that it was a great show. My first real full production Holo concert with live MC and livestreaming involved of the show and it was worth if if you are a fan for sure. They made use of lasers in their performances so it looked really cool and the backgrounds were very rich and colorful/detailed. The performances were also on point with the highlights probably being Liz’s solo performance of Suisei’s trademark song, Stellar Stellar, amazingly good and everyone lost their minds, even me. The best solo performance of the concert bar none so far, that woman can sing man, wow. Best collab/guest song was Kronii, Irys and Towa, which was a big surprise to everyone as they shared singing Irys’s original song Gravity as Towa rarely sings English songs. Most hype fun song was probably Irys Diamond Girlfriend, cause I am biased. Best MC segment was Gigi and Ceclia, autofister. They also had guest appearances by Ollie, Ritsu and Subaru as well. All very well done in collab songs and were treated as special guests as such. Good shit.

After the show, as you can see, this is about 5 or so minutes after the final credits and encore roll, about 20% of the people have already left but some people are just lingering doing hype bau baus and wahs for jokes, also chanting all for one cause that’s the name of this concert after all.

And up here in the third mezz, it’s pretty dead empty still man even after the shows completion. Wow. Our row never did fill out, in our row there was only like 5 people sitting in it. It makes we wonder what could have been if scalpers and or if their system was not timed release and or if the Brats didn’t try to hoard all the tickets.

While the day 1 concert was amazing, I do have some complaints. All of the ground floor people were hype and standing up doing their glow stick thing. For some reason, those in the Mezz areas never stood up, like what the fuck lol? Everyone who was here was still doing glow sticks but no one bothered to stand up? Is this a thing if your in Mezz? Lazy I guess? I don’t know but it was kind of sad, I actually wanted to stand up for once but no one else did, none of the mezz people did. Well who knows, at least I am rested and have stamina for tomorrow now as I am on the ground floor for Sunday, hope that’s a better fan hype experience.

People on their way out now, lots of people even tho where I was it was kind of empty lol. My guess estimate, based on nothing but feel and my own observation of attendance, I would say that the venue was about 70-80% filled, there was most definitely lots of seats empty, and if you wanted them you could get them, but I think after initial release most people just gave up and never bothered to check back, even tho they were sadge.

Going to the washroom after the concert was an interesting experience. Someone would just say bau bau and it would cause a chain reaction of bau baus, even from the stalls only to be broken by someones wahs, which would continue in loops lol jokes. Bau bau indeed.

Overall day one was a great success, I thoroughly thought the show was great and worth the money I paid for the experience, the venue was great too. I just wish there was merch to buy and that more people would be there in attendance, while 70-80% attendance is good, where I was sitting it was just felt bad due to the lack of standing and such, hope tomorrow is better in that regard.

People filtering out to other parts of the city. These guys were going to wait in line for Adells food truck food. I thought about it as-well, then noped out after 30 seconds, not again. Guess I’ll never have adells in NYC.

Making my way to get some eats before going back to hotel. Oh looks it’s times square. On the way I would just pass some holo fans and they would say Bau bau, to my response I would also say bau bau. Man, I have to you know.

Just like in my first NYC trip, gonna have some good tacos for once. The shit I had in Vancouver angers me and I want to fix that.

Finally some good fucking tacos man, I have to go to NYC just for some good shit and it was good shit. There is more to say here but I am just glad I got something that isn’t a sandwich or pizza for once. Good shit, one of the best tacos in NYC.

On the way back to hotel, some random guy was walking towards my direction and said to me while he passed, bau bau. He had de-clothed from his concert attire but was still in the mode. Just can’t get out of that that easy you know, I replied without turning or looking back as I walked away from him, bau bau as well. Mann.

Get some dessert on the way back because I can, and it’s on the way, just like before you know.

After I took a shower ate this caramel flan, it’s pretty good shit. Hits the spot. Maybe I should have ice cream tomorrow so something who knows to end the last full day of my NYC trip.

Well once again it’s late, let’s do it all over again but more chill since it’s Sunday and the last day of AnimNYC and the final Day 2 of the holo concert. Let’s Go!
