Ok then let’s do this and close off our trip, last day of AnimeNYC and last day of Hololive All for One Concert. It was a pretty long day yesterday and I expect to be similar to that more or less, perhaps inherently more chill because it’s Sunday after all at a con and it’s always more chill that way, for some reason. Let’s see how today went.
No breakfast today, got up a bit later than expected and wasn’t that hungry anyways so I just picked up a coffee from my hotel cafe on the way out to the walk to the Javits center.
Kinda sleepy and tired but the cool brew coffee from my hotel is alright, they serve starbucks coffee and goods, even though they are not really a starbucks, a starbucks not I guess. Proof of early morning existence.
Looks like we not going to bump into any one day kindergarten friends today while lining up to get inside, noice I guess lol. Not sure so about the powered by kpop and ramen guy shirt tho, looks a bit of a baiter.
Even tho I am done and have no reason to do so anymore, go to hololive booth anyways just to check if there is anything going on. There isn’t, just people lining up for stamp prizes and etc. lol you never know man, you never know.
I decided to check out the gaming area again in the early morning to see whats there. There isn’t anything really, it’s like super dead in the morning as everyone is checking out the main hall for shopping and final goods search. I didn’t even know ironmouse and british white boy conner had a panel at AnimeNYC. From what I read, they are treating conner as a vtuber, he’s technically in NY but not really, he’s going to be streaming in with Ironmouse so sure I guess?
I went back to the main hall after the gaming area to check out the Brown Dust 2 booth again, they had professional cosplayers do photo sessions and such with fans, there was a line up. I am not sure if this required to buy merch from them or not or just line up wait.
It was actually more busy than when I visited yesterday here and with alot more people lining up for like free gifts if they started the game and other stuff. If you haven’t played the game, they do a gacha pull thing for a free acrylic charm, they didn’t remember me of course so I did it again, and got another one free lol. Nice. If do you already play the game, just show proof of your account is at least level 20 and they give you some other prize shit I think. There was a line for that tho, prizes for existing players.
My second summer charm for this girl, which is supposed to be the same girl in the background cutout, hmm yea I guess it does look like her I guess.
Most of their merch is still out by now which is interesting wow. I guess they are getting popular and their game is getting success. That or people just buy the standees because they are all hot cute sexy girls in bikinis for no reason, maybe a bit of both. Even with the message that some may be shit quality, wow.
Casual clothes Oguri Cap just checking out the street urban wear at this vendor too, not bad man.
This particular store is kinda strange unique, I thought for a second that they were just selling plush stuff of bubble tea and onigiri but a closer look and it looks like they are an actual food place too lol wow.
Vtuber on the floor just doing her thing. I think this is the same shady company that appeared in AN, the one that I was like, is this a real company or just scam bootleg shit, I have to idea and even now, I am unsure.
Hmm, perhaps they are legit? I have no idea. These are the same doki large stands that I saw in Vancouver at the artist alley so who knows. They appear to be a company called mosobox but yea, will check them out later. Are you guys the next vshojo or a merch/artist company it is not clear to me really.
M.Rage is here again selling their cool edgy jacks and clothes. I like their shit man, I brought their Ram guilty gear windbreak last year at EVO but the problem is when am I going to wear it? It’s never the right season or event time to wear it. I checked their menu and it seems like they didn’t bring their guilty gear stuff to AnimeNYC, it does however look like they gained the rights/permission to make Initial D jackets and clothes tho, cool.
Another new merch/character company that is trying their best to make this creature cute and have related merch. I think it’s a capybera? Sure I guess but kinda weird.
Kinda cute shit, maybe my sister might have brought one of these, I have no idea.
I remember this artist from last year. Good graphic design like shit but I don’t think people are going to be buying them, it’s just too simple these days to just ask AI to make something similar like these illustrations now. Sadge but I wonder if they are even making money.
Wow, Noms has a pretty small booth but they make it count, with the large background showing their collaboration with Dokibird. I asked the booth person, which may or may not be one of the owners of noms something like “Oh, you guys have a direct collaboration with Dokibird huh? Wow, I guess you guys know her personally or something.” Her response was like: “yea I guess, something like that you could say.” Which pretty much confirms to me that which I already knew in that Doki used to be an artist at conventions and sold shit too, also perhaps that someone who works at Noms is a friend with Doki or may even be her relative or something, who knows. Guess artist corruption is real after all, not like I didn’t’ know that already.
Shits actually not bad, I ended buying the standee, the art is good. At this time I realized I had ran out of cash in my wallet, or at least the first batch that I keep with me. Oh boi, spending more than I expected at AnimeNYC, the longer I stay here and browse with light traffic the more things become visible to me a available to buy.
Oh shit this Hololive Ceci fan is doing some work, the otomos are jacked I guess.
This artist covering their bases pretty well with these finger puppets, you got all the big names like fuwamoco, dead gura, mint, doki and even phase connect girls. Think I saw before, but I can’t remember, maybe at EVO as well, wow.
Black Orochi Iori, he’s always in insane mode all the time. Noice.
Senpai Squad outpost, while their base is in AX/LA it’s still good to have a booth to sell shit still regardless.
This shop/booth had tons of figures and hololive plush and even the puppets just sitting around on display. Nothing had a price on anything tho which is perhaps why no one was really browsing inside despite being all pretty popular IP like Hololive and other goods. Perhaps they didn’t have time or are actually just all really good bootlegs?
I dunno man, they all seem like real friends with you plush to me. Maybe they are getting it in bulk straight from China in a backroom deal, they were Chinese for sure tho, I heard them talking. But why no prices on shit? Why? this is the last day? Are you guys just setting up now? All these questions made me like, nope, and just left their store/booth which was quite large but no one else but me was browsing which was sus.
FAKKU also has a outpost showing and selling some of their shit, ok. Just like sempai squad, their main base of power/operations is in LA but it’s still good to have a small outpost like this, to show that you care about east coast people too.
Went back to holo booth, ID girls were doing a karoke rally for the next 1.5 hours, the first up was Kobo. She can sing quite well and lasted for about half an hour before having to switch with another remember, next being Iofi then finally Reines. I left after Kobo finished but it’s strange that Reines appeared twice already in these live panels at the booth. I guess they really trying hard to spread word of the first ever ID branch concert in Nov I think.
As per usual, whenever someone is streaming for the con, this opening area for the booth is always packed.
Going back up to the River Pavilion where they do cosplay meet up and photoshoots.
I just so happened to be aware that this time slot was for uma musume photoshot. I think a few of them were also organizers of the meet, like this Tamamo Cross and all the ‘trainer’ looking people too.
The photo shoot is supposed to last about half a hour but I only got here in the last 10 minutes or so where they were all just doing group photos and stuff.
OG anime main characters group I think? Does none want to cosplay mcqueen? Or rather, why is there no mcqueen in this setup? Not sure what they were trying to do.
I feel like I should now this one but I am not sure, without their unique clothes it makes it harder.
Group photo of all the people who were still around.
As one can see, some people’s cosplay are better than others but it’s the effort that counts I suppose. Noice, this photo so hard to get without having other hands or heads of other photo takers in the view, one handed super hand lift aerial camera approach, not bad results.
The next crew who was up was Mao Mao and friends but this one above I am not sure where this came from. They had signs and labels for each time slot but was lazy and couldn’t be bothered.
Like me, this Oguri Cap and Pikachu heading on out to see other shit in the con before it’s over.
Despite being the star of the LA Dodgers, even New Yorkers can’t escape the Shohei Otani at an anime convention.
Wow, you can even try out and eat some of those fancy ramen cookers you see in online videos from korea here. Wow, I wonder how much it costs to have instant ramen made easily in a disposable bowl machine like this.
Super bait so so so bait, can not believe it.
At around past noon the food court in the con was quite busy, I wanted to eat something small so I chose this place.
They had bites of Inari zushi which were super fancy filled/topped with other shit, not just rice and pouch, hmm interesting.
Wow, quite a interesting selection, but look at those prices, well convention prices after all sadly.
I ended up getting 4. Shit tastes pretty good man, I am actually quite impressed. Never had inari sushi like this before, tastes good. Maybe this will be the next big thing to show up in sushi restaurants, good shit but super expensive tho.
While I was sitting on the ground eating, some dude noticed a Kitasean black cosplayer and asked for photos. I did so too. Good shit, didn’t see earlier at the cosplay meetup. Good shit kitasean black, I owe you my life in the game as a card.
After eating went back to holo booth for the last hololive live stream before the concert, Gigi and Kronii talking and asking questions/opinions. It was alright, kinda boring with just minor funny bits and such but at least in the end they did a karoke of All for one song, which was nice.
Hmm, magical girl or demon lord? Mildly entertaining. Like all days, there is actually a holostars stream in the afternoon but I haven’t seen them since by then almost everyone who is going to the concert has already Javits center.
After the kronii and gigi stream, everyone begins to leave AnimeNYC, including myself. Nice Ollie cosplay tho her special bone like clothes version.
Dudes with my favorite talents happi also leaving on their way out. They know whats up. I should probably buy a happi too if I go to an event next year for hololive, I think it’s about time maybe but damn, they are too hot to wear in the summer, damn.
Proof of the end of the line for my time at AnimeNYC, heading to hotel and get food mission before concert at 6pm.
And of course I go to Vitos again for pizza for my late second lunch. Shit is pretty busy still even now.
So good, in a way I like having my hotel in this area just for the convenience of having such good pizza nearby within walking distance of the con and hotel.
Ate two types, mushroom and grandma slice this time, good shit, would again all over again.
After a slight rest after eating, I make my way out again to walk to Radio City Music Hall. Looks good today.
Proof of arrival part II edition, walking with random holofans talking about stuff that happened in day 1 and good shit.
Entry is smooth as usual, good shit. I didn’t know it at the time but this Majima cosplayer would actually have his seat directly in front of me, all I can say is that he is pretty hype, holding 4 light sticks and dancing and shit, just like the real Majima would. Good shit.
There is alot more Gigi happis today for whatever reason today, maybe it’s because I was in mezz yesterday where they are not.
Today I have much better seats than yesterday, in the main orchestra area, basically the main floor space.
Proof of main ground level approval.
And here I am, sitting where I am supposed to be. Not bad view huh, pretty good shit I’d say.
I didn’t even bother to try lining up for photos with the flowers or wall art and shit so I chatted with this guy who sat besides me. I talked with him for more or less over an hour and it was quite an interesting hour or so chat. Dude from Texas, originally from LA, in like sewing material design shit, like designing clothes and fabric stuff or army or construction workers and firefighters, interesting. He also said to me that he knows that the next 4-5 seats to the left of him will probably be empty. Why? Because he brought his tickets from a friend/acquaintance who brought those seats as well and was trying to resell them, in the end he couldn’t sell them so yea, they are empty. The guy who sold him his ticket came around to say hi and such and confirmed yea, there is going to be no one to the left of him. Yea, he later said that his friend who brought those seats works at Nvidia, so he doesn’t care about the loss, he has lots of money anyways. Damn man lol. We talked for some time about how he came to get into vtubers and such, the usual covid and etc but he said that he was really into idols and love live stuff back in the day and jumped on board when Hololive came around because yea, gotta live that idol fan life style you know. I see, interesting. I asked for a photo of him for records sake and he said sure, I think he said his name was Teneil or something, something with a T, I can’t remember, could be Tebin as well.
Out of focus Irys plushie proof of existence. I did it.
Better Bijou in focus proof of plushie existence. I did it.
Ready to roll with the blessing of the Ruffians headband they gave me. I can talk more about the guy sitting behind me but yea, hes an Irys fan too, he bought the Irys collab watch and had some ghetto Guyrys head ornament/mask thing.
Annnndd the day 2 concert is over. Really good shit, I think today was super hype and what I wanted and what was missing on Day 1, being on the main floor with everyone standing and waving glow sticks is the real experience, being hype and yelling dumb shit. Good fun. In terms of performance, they are both good days but I think today was overall a bit stronger/better. They had lots of collab songs and both Ritsu, Towa and Ritsu also appeared in them as well.
While there wasn’t a super legendary Liz Stellar stellar song solo moment, all of the other solo performances were also very strong and also by popular members like Bijou, Kronii, Bae, Calli, Fuwamoco, CeCi, Gigi, Neressa. Bijou had great song choices, choosing marine’s dead ma’am’s chest and also being apart of i’m your treasure box group song. Ceci played her violin for a bit. Fuwamoco sang the full version of their original song, Calli sung a melody of her old songs with newer ones, gigi and neressa covered the Kobo/Marine collab song which I can’t remember that is also quite popular. They also had double encore at the end, instead of just one song like on day 1.
Overall day 2 was much better than day 1, not just because of the songs and talent performances, because they overall were but I got the sense that the audience released their self limiters and got extra hype/loud and energetic compared to day 1. Maybe it has something to do with song selection type and member compositions but yea, very good shit today. I am impressed and pleased with this experience, would do it again.
Heading on out, good shit. You can even see the hype Majma guy on the left still, wow.
Nice happis bros. There really was a lot of new ceci and gigi autofister fans wearing happi’s which is great. Pour one out for the new generation.
One last distant photo of Radio city music hall. This venue is great and in a great location. One of the attendees in the Irys fan discord said that one of the venue staff said that these two shows were the best that they had in months, in terms of behavior and audience hype/enthusiasm.
Even tho they are technically dead/abandoned, the saplings still cling on to their loss queen. They still can’t let go, because they know its not quite the same as before even with reincarnation. In a way very sad but also very commendable in a self tourturing kind of way.
Not feeling that adventurous tonight I grab a quick halal food truck, Royal Grill to take back food to my hotel. Once again, there is a huge line at Adele so I don’t even try. Maybe one day maybe one day… Royal grill is also said to be quite good food truck from videos but why does it not have any customers in line whereas Adeles has like 50 people or something, I don’t get it.
I get the chicken tikka and lamb over rice. I have this sometimes in a nearby food place that says they are “NYC Style”, so let’s see if the real thing is better.
I normally would like to go to times square for some final photos but since it’s already so late, not today, not fully this time on this trip, ahwell.
Cheap pizza is still around for now. Gotta document it while they exist.
And so here is my late dinner, chicken tikka and lamb over rice. Looks pretty good, I asked for all the sauces and it certianly has a kick with the white and red/green sauces. The chicken is tender and marinated well. The lamb chunk meat is tasty and seared quite good. Good shit.
A look at that rice underneath, pretty tasty spiced rice too good shit. Overall this is a great food truck halal rice over meat dish. It is indeed better than the one in Toronto, and for only like $12 the value is very good. Would again, i’ve tried two different halal food trucks by now in NYC and I think this one is the best so far. I can only imagine what the ‘real’ best one Adeles is going to be line, probably best quality, value and quantity. That’s probably why I guess.
But yea, that ends my final full day in NYC, gotta pack up my merch and shit for the ride home tomorrow. This trip has been a great success so far, let’s hope that nothing bad goes on while I make it to the airport and such. Good shit, good concert. Worth already.
