So far so good, this season has lots of great stuff to watch, so much so that I’m going to have a hard time keeping up with everything if I do want to follow everything.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure – Diamond is Unbreakable – This is the 4th story arc/sequel to Jojo’s bizzare adventure after the stardust crusaders arc; probably the best show of last year, or at least in mai opinion. After stardust crusaders, anything after Dio is going to be a tough act to follow. In any regards, this time the “JoJo” is the half brother of badass Jotaro from the previous show named, Josuke. Basically ten years have passed since the previous story and Jotaro is some kind of researcher or scientist now, he’s looking for his half brother to do some shit and well, shit happens because of it. Josuke lives in a sub-urban town and is kind of lame douchbag with a punk airplane/pompodor haircut. Yea, this show is on a totally different wavelength than the previous shows and is a bit more lait back with the epic manliess and fighting. Basically, “JoJo Mai Hometown Mystery” edition. Quality is top notch still and at least Jotario is still in it, regardless, still gonna watch this.
Bakuon!! – What do you get if you combine initial d, motorcycles, comedy, slice of life, k-on and a generic otaku “I like this” kind of show? You get Bakuon!! that’s what. This is a good show. Basically exactly as i described it, you have a bunch of cute girls who love motorcycles that join a motorcycle school club and all they do it talk about motorcycles, ride and learn more stuff about motorcycles. So the show starts off with main girl riding bike to school, a regular bike. Other main girl with black poofy hair rides by on her motorcycle and they do shit. Basically it accumulates to the main girl wanting to ride too and trying to get her motorcycle license and thus training and such begins. The range of characters are all there for your typical slice of life/moe anime, hype main girl, know-it-all but insecure secondary girl, blonde big boob tsundere girl (very good jiggle action here) and mysterious club president that doesn’t speak and wears a helmet at all times (know doubt glasses girl with braids who is shy). What’s interesting here is that they don’t censor the shit they are talking about, they actually name Honda, Suzaki’s and Toyota models and talk shit/praise them. The animation and line quality is exceptional for a comedy slice of life show. All the characters are likeable and chill, gonna watch this.
Hundred – So I’m the best right. I just entered a new high school for magical military shit somethings scoring the highest on the entrance exam since like evar. Yea, I’m the best but why do I seem like I don’t know shit? Dunno, must be because it’s the first episode and I need to show the audience how this world works. So anyways, we got these magical crystals, we use them and we get some magical weapon or thing which we use to fight, fight what? Not really sure, just knoe that i gotta fight soemthing, it’s a magical military fight school after all. I dont’ give a shit about what i’m fighting for or what i’m training for, I just gotta fight. Yea, I’m the best. There’s all these cute girls around me with big boobs that I hope will jiggle around me; ah yea, but for some reason some guy that looks awfully feminine and could have sworn was a girl is now my roommate and now I’m living with him/her, yea, I’m gay too. Oh boy, what a rough first day, some people were late to the entrance ceremony because i dunno derps, and now some shit happened because I stood up and now I gotta fight the class president; she has blonde drill hair and big boobs. Did i mention that when we transform we get all this tight fitting plug-suit kind of thing? yea, nice. My theme song is pretty cool, nice opening riffs and shit but yea, I don’t like like this school much, I guess I’ll kill mai self. Yea, whatever.
Bungou Stray Dogs – This is a show that inherently targets the female audience but I think it’s pretty interesting enough in it’s own right, even without the implied hidden gay content that the audience no doubt will create in their minds. So there’s this poor orphan guy that got kicked out of his shit home, dude is hungry and shit, too wuss to steal, too dumb to do anything about it. Gonna kill mai self I guess. Looks at the river and sees some other guy floating, trying to kill himself, orphan guy is like wut is dis? Helps the guy, floating guy is like oh hey, wassup. They talk and enjoy funny comedic moments between one another because that’s the kind of show it is. Some other dude shows up and is like, yo floating man, we gotta get back to work, we gotta find some magical tiger shit that’s been ruining the town lately. Poor kid is like, you don’t say? Fast forward, the boy is the magical tiger but didn’t even know it and the floating dude owns him and shit. Tiger boy is dispelled and wakes up. Floating man introduces himself as Osamu Dazai, the name of a famous Japanese writer and a bunch of other crew shows up, all names of famous Japanese writers and poets such as Edogawa Ranpo and Akiko Yosano etc. Ok so this is what this show is about, basically Japanese writers/poets are apart of some crew and they solve crimes/problems using their magical abilities which just so happens to be the name of their most famous works. Ok, cool, good animation and concept, will probably watch more.
Joker Game – This show is pretty hardcore drama/mind games/gambling. Basically it’s the beginning of WWII and Japan is beginning to train it’s spies in order to plant them into foreign countries in order to gather intelligence and such. The main guy, I think it’s the main guy is not a spy but is tasked to supervise the spy agency to see that they are doing their jobs and shit. Main guy is super loyal traditional Japanese mindset of military army stock, die for the emperor, fight to the death, follow all orders and such and sees all spies as cowards and weaklings. The group of like 7-8 remaining spy students are introduced by name, all guys and the usual. One day the main guy walks into the kitchen at the dorm and they are playing poker, decides to join. He loses badly. Then one of the dudes is like sorry bro, we not even playing poker, we playing our usual game, Joker Game, we cheated bitch, we ain’t even trying to win, we were doing some other shit. Main guy is like WTF yo, then spy boss comes in and ruins the main character’s worldview saying that the world is not about loyalty but all about mind games, tricks and backstabbing, and that you need to consider a world where Japan lost the war. Main guy is like nope, whatever. Fast forward more and main character gets framed for following orders and searching some foreigner, which puts him in a situation where he said he would kill himself if he didn’t find any weapons/evidence. Guy is like FUCK i got owned. It would by cool if the guy has to kill himself and the main character is actually all of the spy guys but not sure. Pretty good designs even though target for women, clean lines and good pacing, concept. Will watch more.
Bishoujo Yuugi Unit Crane Game – This is some shit mini show about some girls who are tasked to play crane/ufo catcher games to save the world from aliens or something. Kind of shitty designs and animation. With a basic description about crane games you would think it would be more fun but it’s basically just a guise/cover to make the girls idols to save the world or something. Kind of disappointing, I was hoping for a pure show about playing ufo catchers and how to win/that feel when you almost got it but dropped the ball/strats. Nope. Probably not watch more.
Sousei no Onmyouj – I am some guy who has trouble with girls but am actually a very powerful spirit master/exorcist but I dont’ want to be one anymore because a few years ago I tried to protect some girl/some shit and they got ruined and shit, so I don’t’ wanna do it anymore. I am a faggot to the highest level. With great power comes great faggotry. So one day I’m walking on teh streets right and some kids gets attacked by some demon monster and shit, some girl shows up and is also a exorcist and decides to fight it. Bitch please I can do that better. So we go into the magical spirit world were we can fight the monsters and shit to save the kids. Unknown girl puts on some fox mask and starts doing some sealing shit and fighting. Some fighting happens and then she gets owned, of course. I guess I can’t run away this time, gotta show this bitch now how pro I am. Yea, I own that monster in one punch. The end. This show is pretty shit, the main character is pretty undesireable, the main girl is pretty boring and follows a standard kind shonen/magic power show. Ok, designs, basic concept and interesting music, kind of sidestepping. Nope, not for me.
Super Lovers – Opening episode takes place near Calgary, Alberta, Canada, ok wut. So main guy is a some quarter Japanese guy visiting his biological mother in said location, his mom and new husband live in the forest and shit of Alberta. They do stuff and they introduce them to their adopted former-orphan boy son who is kind of like a feral child that has a thing for wolves. Stereotypical Canadian activities are pursued such as cutting logs, walking in the forest, eating pancakes with maple syurp and blueberries and enjoying free Canadian universal health care. Boy and main guy bond and shit and usual implied gay relationship is seeded. Later wolf boy is like yo, I wanna go to Japan and live with you and meet your other gay brothers and shit. The end. Yea, pretty gay show for women, with a name like SUPER LOVERS, it’s pretty blatant. For what is is, I guess it’s good, main guy is pretty handsome and boy is good gay boy. Animation is ok and concept is whatever, nope not for me.
Anne Happy – Aka “Unhappy” this is a pretty good slice of life comedy show about 3-5 girls who just entered their first year of highschool which is apparently very prestigious with dedicated classes focusing on either academics or sports. But the main girl and other girls are in a unspecified class type, which is told the purpose of their class is for the students to be “happy” that’s all. Everyone is like yo what the fuck, the teacher explains to them that everyone in the class is very unfortunate or has some weird trait that prevents them from being “happy” thus the premise of the show, and that they are here to help them be happy. The main blonde girl is named “Anne” thus the word pun for the show if said with a try hard Japanese accent “ANN-HAPPY” = “UNHAPPY” ok, nice makes sense. Anne is just damn unlucky and always gets into shit but as usual is super hype and think she has good luck. Next girl is the “normal” girl with long purple hair who appears to be normal in every way and is the most like WTF about the class plan but her weird thing is that she loves the picture of the little man at construction sites. Third girl is glasses girl with pink hair who is just very weak and sickly. There is 2 other characters not introduced yet but I’m sure they also have funny traits to tell as well. Very good slice of life moe material, ok designs and decent concepts. The characters are pretty likeable so I’ll probably end of watching this forsure.
Shit too much good show, not over yet…
