Background: The Seven Deadly Sins is something of a figure collection series by well known illustrator Nishii, who has done an abundant of work for Nitro+ most notably, DemonBane, Jingai Makyo and perhaps most famously the Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls media franchise. A number of years ago there was a lot of figures being produced for Hyakka Ryouran and a lot of people brought them, mainly because they were so good and the girls were so hot/cute/well designed. Well apparently it caught on that Nishii’s art translates very well into figures so he was commissioned to do a series of illustrations to anthropomorphize The Seven Deadly Sins as cute anime girls for HobbyJapan, a company that collaborates with figure manufacturers.

While not the first figure of the character, Leviathan here is supposed to be the representation of Envy, and based on that pose and expression alone, you can kinda guess what she is envious about. It goes without saying why I got this figure; I like Nishii’s art, I like demon girls, I like purple hair, I like boobs, I like hot pants, I like suggestive poses and her expression is so tsun I couldn’t resist. There is apparently an alternative version of her coming out sometime soon with pink hair and colors reversed but I like her in her original color scheme best.

The back of the box shows the original illustration that this figure is based off of and the various parts and display configurations that are possible. Notice that on the bottom left show her with a totally different legs up pose. Yea, that’s a thing and obviously her top and pants are cast-offable.

It’s a little bit redundant to post the original illustration since it’s on the back of the box but I might as well do so again. Man, Nishii’s art is so good.

Leviathan’s sculpt itself is extremely good. No seams or icky bits sticking out where there shouldn’t be and as it can be evidently seen, matches Nishii’s art to a tee.

Her backside is a little bit strange in that you can see her thong and butt straight up which is probably an error or lazy on my part. Apparently from the pictures online and on the box her hot pants are supposed to go higher so it doesn’t look so silly but this was the highest I could get them. Ah well. The base is very basic, just a standard plastic disk with some symbol on it which I am assuming is the design they chose to associate Envy for this series.

Nice side view. Nice shoes, very well detailed with the straps and flowers. Same can be said for the belts on her arm and her bikini top.

More upclose shot from an angle. Her expression and face is unique in that she’s supposed to be a bit angry but at the same time, it’s like she doesn’t care at all that she’s basically lifting up her shirt to show me her boobs. Yes, this is good.

And so here we are, with her top part “cast-off” and her bare boobs exposed; it’s wonderful.

However, saying that she is “cast-offable” is a bit of an understatement. Normally for these kinds of ero figures the bra/panties/skirt or whatever usually just means a separate plastic piece that you can attach or remove whenever, which can be cumbersome and hard to do, not to mention risk breaking parts. Leviathan’s solution to this problem is this: include 2 torso parts; one with the bikini top and the other with bare boob naked. Wut? This shit this again? Ah well, at least it works.

One of the top comments for this figure on myfigurecollection.net mentions the following:

Man, those are well shaped big boobs. It’s a bit funny really since if you compare the first figure that they made of Leviathan which also happens to be cast-offable you can notice that she definitely jumped a few cup sizes for this figure. I suppose she got tired of being ENVIOUS of her modest size and used some magic and shit to increase her bust, well at least that’s how some people have taken it.

The manufacturer of this figure, Orchid Seed is well known for making busty boob ero figures and at a very high quality. This one is no different although they are also well known for taking a fucking long time to get something out the door. I saw prototypes of this figure literally over 2 years ago before it was finally released sometime in late November last year. Shit, but worth the wait.

In addition to the extra nude torso, they also included 2 other legs and 2 other hands in order for you to achieve the slightly more suggestive yet kind of funny pose with no pants. Honestly, when I pre-ordered this figure I had no idea this pose was even an option as all the promotional photos matched the original illustration. When they showed this pose all I could think of was “what the fuck guys, more parts?” Seriously, all they need to do is give me another head part and I literally could have 2 separate figures. Why?!

Hmm…then again, with so many different parts and options you could technically arrange her in even more strange lewd unofficial poses. The ones below combine the nude torso and her standing legs except placed reversed.

I think I like her unofficial topless sitting configuration more than the legs pointing upward, the legs pointing upward just look silly even if nude.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the end result of this figure. While I had only asked for a simple standing bikini figure, what I got instead was a cast-off figure with multiple funny/lewd positions available to me using multiple parts. The quality of the sculpt, paintwork and all round appeal of Leviathan is quite evident if you like the <assets> that she can bring to your collection. Once again, this figure doesn’t really have a background story or character history, it’s another figure just based off a simple illustration, an illustration that was made only for the sole purpose of it being made into a figure, and for what it’s worth, totally succeeds it’s intended purpose with getting people to buy it. Whether you display her topless, sitting down, standing, with bikini or with no pants, it’s up to you and whatever tickles your fancy.
