Motherfucker. After a year of climbing the ranked ladders I did it. I finally reached Unlimited Master Rank in Shadowverse. Fuck. Finally.

Holy shit. It’s been about a year since I first started playing Cygames digital CCG and I would never have thought that I was get this far to the highest non-demoteable rank. The last few months I have been stuck in AA Rank due to the meta shifting rapidly and OP card combinations that made it very difficult for me to climb the ladder but with some luck and due to the fact that the end of the month is coming I was able to pull of some 8 win streaks that propelled me into the trial matches to rank up.

In Shadowverse you need to gain a certain amount of win points before you rank up, you get points by defeating people in ranked matches. Likewise if you lose you lose some points so yea, it’s a tug of war. When you get past B rank and go into A Rank they start implementing some trial kind of thing, a test a sort before you officially rank up. You get placed into a certain mode where you don’t lose points or gain any and all you have to do is win something like 2 out of 5 matches and if you do, you rank up. Once you rank up to a new Letter Rank you can’t rank down any further, which is absolutely terrific, who the hell wants to rank down? From A0 Rank it goes to A1, A2, A3 and then AA ranks.  You can however rank down from let’s say A3 back to A2 which just feels badman. For me moving up for A to AA was difficult, but the struggle from AA3 to Master was hell.

A couple of months prior I had made huge gains with win streaks with playing Shadowcraft decks, racking up shit like 12-16+ win streaks which propelled me from AA0-AA3. But then the new expansion dropped and the meta which favored my mid-range aggro deck was shattered and I was in a tough spot, everyone started to play very control tanky turtle defense decks with difficult counter conditions that made winning hard.

I struggled for awhile but then decided to switch to playing Neutral Forestcraft using the Beauty and the Beast card focus. Motherfuck hell yea I did it, it worked wonders and now I am here, at the top of the mountain bitch. The trial was nothing, win 2 out of 3 matches, the hell was getting that last win to even get to the trial. Up and down up and down. There was a point where I was literally 1 point away from getting into trial mode but then I lost and had to fight more. But anyways I pulled through and managed to do it. YASSSS FINALLY! Even though there is a rank higher than Master, Grandmaster, that shit resets every month so who cares. I achieved my goal in shadowverse and can now derp around in ranked with stupid decks since I can’t get any lower.

Holy shit, 1508 wins, how many losses did I incurr along the way…they obviously don’t want to show you your win/lose ratio because it will make you only depressed and not want to play. So I like the fact that they only show the good. For a long time the majority of my ranked matches I played Bloodcraft, full on aggro rush style. Then I started playing Shadowcraft seriously when I got to AA. I also played Forestcraft before the ranked mode got segregated..into Rotation and Unlimited modes.

At the start of 2018 ranked matches were separated into two modes, prior to this date there was only “Ranked Matches” which allowed all cards ever in existence to build decks. Then they  introduced rotation, which only allowed you to build decks from the last 5 card expansions which allowed the game to be played with more diversity and mix things up because as time goes on and new cards are made, shit can get op with certain combinations.

I however, decided to stick to playing Unlimited Ranked, because it sounds cooler to be a Master of that than rotation. Of course it made laddering harder but it feels better to win with a deck that has no restrictions against all the other OP decks out there.

Vania/Vampy was my go to leader for Bloodcraft for the majority of my wins so yea, gotta play testament to that here. Plus she is a cute vampire girl so yea, I like.

I played Shadowcraft alot up untill like a week ago so I owe Luna some artwork cause she got the shit done for me before the new turtle meta happened. Plus she’s cute.

Ah…Arisa and Forestcraft, I used to play you alot when Roach decks were still a thing, but now that you are having a comeback due to new cards, I gotta give you props. Plus I pulled that rare leader card Aria so yea, even more incentive to get back to Forest or Elf as the Japanese name for the class is. Arisa is cute and if there is going to be an anime of Shadowverse in the future, she’s definitely going to be one of the main characters.
