So here I am again, at Anime North 2018, probably been going to this thing in various capacities for the past 10 years or so. I’m sure a few people/cosplayers have recognized me by now. I’ve really gotten into taking photos of cosplayers and shit now because it’s fun. Before I was more hesitant to ask busy people going somewhere but these days I don’t give a shit, if you are cosplaying as something you are just asking to be asked and have your photo taken. Mutherfucking yeaaaaa. Only going for the weekend this time around as Friday is bullshit for me, not worth it. Because I am getting limited for space on my hosting, these photos may look the same on the page but are actually a little bit smaller in size, although people probably won’t notice the difference. Anyways, in total I got about 300 photos to share and comment on spread across 2 posts, so this here is about 150 images, beware if on data/mobile. Anyways, let’s get this shit started.

Inside now, for a few years now they have this general layout where you go into the dealers room first. Back in the day it used to be the artist ally, or comic market first. I’m sure that over time it has eroded sales for artists works.

Oh by a full boy suit cosplay of one of the penguin idol girls from Kemono Friends, one of last year’s sleeper hits in a weird kind of way. Such bravery.

More full body suits. Not sure about the left but the right is of IF from the compile heart hyperdimension neptune series of which I have played since they first came out. Scary but so brave. There is like 60% chance that these are guys.

So, looks like after a few years of representation they decided to move the Goodsmile Company/Natito World booth to it’s own island table which makes alot of sense since they were always a area of congestion in the corner way in the back. Good for them. Nice latest figure selection.

There was a big blowup Rayquaza in the gallery area, you know the place where you take off your bag to see shit art that you could see anyways in the artists alley except for auction. Yea, this is as far as I got, not worth. Nice dragon tho.

Oh shit, it’s Chinese demi deity Lord Guan Yu from like, every Chinese thing ever about the three kingdoms era and most importantly, Dynasty Warriors. Too bad I hear the latest game is shit tho, too open worldy fail. Very well done.

And here we have our first 2B from Nier Automata, there was a lot this year. Well even last year there was alot. I finished the game like last year and I must say, it’s probably the best game experience I personally had in a long time, plus the designs are so good.

Oh boy, it’s Mercedes from Odin’s Sphere and her price, the frog guy whatever. I am glad that people still remember this game, especially since the remake was so recent. I’m surprised no one did Momohime from Demon Blade yet tho. Good shit.

And here we have my first Miku that I took of this year. This is goodsmile racing miku variant. Every year they design a new figure for miku as a racequeen of sorts and this was one of them, maybe this year or last, can’t remember. Great job and pose. It’s kinda hard to believe that it’s been over 10 years since Miku and vocaloid shit first came out.

A very nice crew of Love Live Muse cosplayers in very nice clothes. Their striped gloves are great. It’s a bit funny however how everyone still likes OG Muse, even tho the new generation, Aquors is around.

A voice actor from card captor sakura, Junko Iwao. Must feel weird singing and being so old, probably in her late 40’s but can still handle the high pitched animu voices. Nice experience.

For the voice actor concert they opened a area of the convention space that has never been used before by AN, this is new territory for everyone. Oh shit we got lost and went in circles like fools looking for it, little did we know, shit was right here. Fuck.

A very sad crew of admirals bored as hell. 80% of the people there already knew what the hell it was and played the game and were literally SCHOOLING the main panel guy about the game because he used to play but quit a year ago or so. What the fuck? Why are you even having this panel then? The other guy they had was this old guy, a naval military historian to briefly talk about historical relevancy and shit, which was bullshit to begin with. Bad. Never again. Panels are bullshit without knowledgeable hosts and speakers.

Wow, holy shit this Nepgear is pretty hot. What a nice body and sexy clothes. Pretty brave to be basically wearing almost nothing in underwear out in the open. I don’t remember Nepgear wearing anything like this in the games but yea who cares.

Wow, first Darling in the Franxx cosplay of Zero Two. Pretty well done but then again it’s probably a costume she partly brought which is fine, need to be able to fit the plug suit after all. Great wig and hair. Great choice of shoes, her sandal slipper things are a matching red so you could hardly even noticed that she was wearing shoes.

I belive I’ve seen this guy before last year. Well You is one of the best girls from Love Live Sunshine. Photoshop processing made this was a bit too bright, ah well.

Went back inside as I saw this shit. It’s doki doki literature club. Something that I only recently found out about. The creator was apparently at the con but wasn’t at his table now.

In the game area, which over the past few years has expanded nicely into it’s own thing. Fairly busy with lots of people coming in and out. Kinda strange tho because this place it also a hybrid of vendor/artists/craft area, weird.

Overall Saturday at this Anime North was pretty good, lots of great cosplay and good people all round. I didn’t take much photos of artists or shit in the dealers room so on Sunday that’s what I did a lot of. Last year I went on Friday and when I think about it, I don’t’ regret it. Saturday was fucking hot however, holy shit it was hot. I suppose this is good training for the future for Anime Expo. Most wasted cause for me today was kancolle panel, fucking waste of time shit. The boat photo shoot was fun tho, no regets. The voice actor concert was nice but honestly I could have passed on that too, maybe if I cared about her I would like it more but I didn’t so yea.
